Re: Skywalker, 5p, 5.8
I FINALLY was able to get on Skywalker yesterday. It's a GREAT climb! We were lucky to be the only ones on it. It wasn't until we were starting the last pitch that a party of 2 were starting up the first pitch. By the time we hiked down there was yet another party starting up. I find all its variati...

Re: Rambles (4p, 5.8)
We went up Rambles to get to Diedre today. It was great! That route is now my preferred way to get to the start of those Apron climbs.
Thanks Jeremy!
I wonder if The Bottom Line will get mossed over now . . . . .

Re: Sullys projects
I'd be curious to know which routes you think are soft Khoi and did you think they were soft to onsite? To date, I have done every route there that is 5.11b and easier. I found everything I did there to be of varying degrees of softness for the grade. And, yes, I did think they were soft to onsight...

Re: Sullys projects
I find the grades at Sully's Hangout to be on the softer side, even softer than Squamish grades, which are also soft. Grades aside, I really like Sully's Hangout. It's a great area to have and so very close to Vancouver to boot. I find it far more beginner friendly (or should I say gym-to-real-rock ...

Re: Rambles (4p, 5.8)
I was great to finally meet you Jeremy! I guess I can say that I had a miniscule part on that route, having sold you some of the bolts/hangers.
I'm sorry to hear that you're not gonna stick around.
Have a great time in Manitoba!
(What's the climbing like there????)

Re: Planning to do Diedre on Tuesday, Dec. 13 - BAD IDEA???
So that ended up being a lot simpler than I expected! We had a ridiculously late start, and, he had very little sleep the night before, so I suggested a (short) day of cragging at the Bluffs and he agreed. The cold weather made for fantastic friction! Cat Crack was nice and dry. The climbs in Octopu...

Re: Planning to do Diedre on Tuesday, Dec. 13 - BAD IDEA???
Calculus Crack is one option I am considering. Old start? New Start?
Another option that was suggested to me is Sunblessed in the Solarium. Hopefully it's higher elevation and exposure would make for friendlier climbing conditions.
Anything else I should consider?

Planning to do Diedre on Tuesday, Dec. 13 - BAD IDEA???
I got a friend who's heading back to Australia in a few days. He really really wants to do some a climb on the Stawamus Chief before he leaves. I'm planning on taking him up Diedre. As of last week, tomorrow looked like the best option weather-wise. But it looks like that has changed. The most recen...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
What Erik Frebold, a coworker of mine who has put up some routes in Squamish, has to say: Goat ridge doesn't strike me as quite as obvious a launch point for hikes as they claim-- quite a bit of alder and bluffs to deal with first. Also it seems a shame to bisect the parkland with a gondola. Also, t...

Re: Physio Recommend
I've gone to both Len and Paolo at Salus Physiotherapy multiple times. I highly recomment them. They both took time to ask questions and analyse the underlying factors contributing to my problems. Len is a very strong climber. It was good to have a climber's perspective. He told me which moves to av...

It all sounds great! I for one would be all for a parking fee if it meant that: 1. The lot got paved 2. They installed proper public washroom 3. As for the need for security, the piles of broken glass in the parking lot speaks to that necessity. Sounds good to me, so long as the parking fee is kept...
