Yukon Gold

I re-cleaned and freed 'Yukon Gold' on the North Walls. It's a great route with some really excellent climbing. The crux 2nd pitch went all free at 12+ or 13- with a couple very hard moves in a shallow corner, followed by more technical climbing in a deeper corner before the crack open up again. It'...

fyi, whoever was trundling large blocks down the North Walls today had nothing to do with me or my project. Just don't want anybody to think that was me trundling irresponsibly.

excellent suggestion Anders! Seeing as any rocks that may be lurking on the pitches I am working on, although I didn't see any at all, would be about baseball size maximum this plan should work very well.

Cleaning on North Walls, right of AK Highway

Hi, I am working on a new FFA project just right of Alaska highway at the North Walls. I will be cleaning this route tomorrow and will keep you posted in general about when cleaning will be taking place. I will also post warning signs on the trail. Climbers on Alaska Highway and Astrologger will not...

Lost shoes and chalk bag at boulders

Apparently I left a pair of 5.10 Jet7's in fairly new condition in the boulders around 'Green Traverse' 'Dyke Surfer' area. I also seem to have forgotten an orange Prana chalk bag below 'The Bulb' 'Sharma's arete' area! If you see them let me know!

Thanks!
Marc

The 'if you don't like the bolt, don't clip it' argument is futile and useless. The presence of the bolt still alters the commitment factor, whether you plan on clipping it or not. You could go up, feel strong and pull it without clipping. But if you suddenly felt bad about it you could cop out and ...

If someone places I a bolt there I will chop it myself. You could clip the bolt to the left if you so needed anyways.... FLight is an INCREDIBLE gear route, and a fantastic lead on gear. If you are so afraid of falling of that V2 move where the pin was, maybe you shouldn't be on the route in the fir...

Sorry, I didn't mean that raging duck should not have been retrobolted. I was just responding to the fellow that says if bolts make it more user friendly then put them in. I agree that Neat and Cool should not neccesarily be littered in death routes (exception: Bruce Lee Vs. The Kiss Army) but the b...

Should we all go back to climbing in leather boots with hemp ropes and the only acceptable bolting process is on lead? I agree with bolting to take away a ground fall or to make it more user friendly. That is my bit of chatter to add! Yeah! Lets bolt cracks to make it more user friendly to those wh...
