Re: Climbing destinations - need recommendations

Would bouldering fit the bill? If so look at Castle Hill. Best spot in the world for it IMHO. a trip to araps and other oz crags along with NZ would make for a nice vacation. and it could be as long as you make it, mine was 2.5 years :P NZ isn't so great for trad, however castle hill is special, am...

Re: Climbing destinations - need recommendations

Arapiles, Australia!! I second that, the best climbing culture I have experienced. Don't go in their summer, its too hot. winter can be wet, but it wasn't for me. Spring and fall are best. Lofoten Islands in Norway are an amazing setting with fantastic granite climbing and also easy to find partner...

Re: Stawamus River climbers camp mess

Rats, I walked through there on Thursday and wondered if anyone was staying there. If I would have known it was vacated I would have helped myself to the left over bran flakes :P They had a real nice set up, and besides leaving everything it appeared to be fairly clean, garbage left in bags and in o...

I'm also considering getting rid of the rank gif (the graphic that goes from monkey to ape to human) I personally like the GIF. RE: Anonymity I think everyone should have to go through a standardized 30 min interview before being given a username and password. The standardized interview will includ...

This deserves a place among the best climbs that Squamish has to offer. If you have yet to try this, do yourself a favour and get on it while the weather is still good.

Found: Nut on the sword

Picked up a nut on the sword yesterday. If you used it to rap off and want it back let me know. If your second couldn't get it out then well I guess I am keeping it :P

haha ya we aided the end of filibuster and the final pitch is brutal with only 1 #4 and #5 camalot :o

Re: Favourite pitch in Squamish - any grade - any style

still new to the area, maybe 25 routes climbed, but here is my 2¢

favorite gear pitch: filibuster on Right WIng (had to chop it in half, not confident enough yet to string them together)

bolted: Good Times at fern hill is pretty awesome. Especially how the roof section is easier then it looks.

Re: Slhany (sic?) - right wing

Climbed it today. No where near linking the pitches. Seriously. That pitch is fucked up. Where you guys in the tie dye shirts? We had doubles and triples 0.5 to .75 and I had hardly anything left by the time I lunged for the platform :P Having said that I was placing a lot of gear, something I tend...

Slhany (sic?) - right wing

Has anyone climbed the complete 58 m filibuster pitch without stopping at the luxurious belay? It was what I had in mind but my elvis leg, empty harness, and exploding forearms refused to climb past the belay. Which is awesome (the belay), I never expected to see so many bolted stations here. I gues...
