Cam at Malamute

Well, it's a long shot, but worth a try - lost a grey BD cam at the Upper Malamute on Monday. Climbing in the area of Paul's crack/High mountain woody. Pretty sad its gone...

Re: Passing etiquette on a multi pitch

@scrubber: i do find it hard to stand my ground when a situation like this arises probably due to the fact that i am relatively new to climbing (5 years) and dont have the biggest physical presence. But people like that need to be called out on their sh*t before someone gets hurt. I know i will next...

Passing etiquette on a multi pitch

I had a very unpleasant experience on the Apron yesterday and thought I would share it in an attempt to encourage climbers to discuss when it is/isn't okay to pass on a multi pitch and for some to think twice before heading up a route like a drunken toddler. I took a friend for her first Apron exper...

Re: papoose unknown climb

Starting to think that the climb I am wondering about is actually Mushroom, while the route I thought was Mushroom was actually Laid Back. Neither are shown in the guide I have. Whatever they were, they were both fun climbs.

Flying gear, flying rocks = no fun on Rutabaga

Just another warning to those climbing in the Arrowroot/Rutabaga area - Midday on Saturday my partner was leading the first pitch of Rutabaga when I saw something falling towards us at a very high speed. A belay device from a party on Europa or Millenium Falcon passed by my partner's head and landed...

Re: Right Wing - bolts are back

Climbed this today in the blazing heat of the day...not so smart. Filibuster was fantastic and pumpy as expected. Thank sweet baby jesus for the hanging belay. It would have been brutal otherwise. For those who can handle it, easy enough to pass it by. Found the toughest pitch to be the last. Quite ...

Re: If you climbed Angel's Crest on Friday, Aug. 12...

Ha! That crazy talk came from my partner who also, in a moment of temporary insanity, announced he was quitting climbing. I am happy to say he has fully recovered and the gear was put to good use yesterday.

Thanks for the message Mike. Kyle is right. They were cruising it and it only made sense to let them pass. It all worked out in the end.

If you climbed Angel's Crest on Friday, Aug. 12...

Sending out huge thanks to the party ahead of us on Angel's Crest this past Friday (Brad and Kyle???). My partner and I are so appreciative of the belay you gave us. It was a long day and your day was made longer by helping us out. All sorts of good karma will be coming your way. Many thanks!
