I bouldered at Paradise today and it was a little damp in the morning but by the afternoon it was great. Actually cleaned and established a couple of new probs. The Grand should be fine tomorrow.

No Parking at Paradise Valley Campground.

The owners of Paradise Valley Campground, in Squamish, have asked that climbers no longer park on their property. They've had too many run ins with climbers who have been rude and disrespectful. Apparently, some climbers have even been parking on their property and then camping on the other side of ...

I'd go for a Flashed pad for sure. We use the Squamish boulders as our main testing ground because the landings are notoriusly hard on pads and the stacked boulders and thick forest environment point out problems with carrying system set ups. We feel that if our pads can hold up in Squish and let ou...

The water has been up on the hot or rainy days and lower when it's cold. Pretty predictable really. The wave at the Mamquam has been pretty good the last few times I've been out.

I was in Van the other day and was just leaving from paddling the Cap. and was sitting behind this guy at the stop sign to turn up Talyor way and he open a pack of cancer sticks and throws the plastic wrap out the window. I felt the urge to lay on the horn but decided it would be better to get out o...

Kung Fu and Shots Fired both getting props. I think I'm blushing. I think that Shots Fired would be one of the most popular problems if it was in the forest and not in a ditch beside the highway. I love Airtight Garage because sometimes I hike it and feels fine and other times it's a battle and I wa...

Lame! Gary, don't let whoever took the stuff know that that's the rope you spilled battery acid on and the biners you droped off the Grand. Let em find out the hard way. Karma will sort things out, Gary.

Go with the Flashed pads. They're a great landing and both the foam and the cover are really durable and they're made in Canada. I love the 4" Master mat myself but the Temple is the most common mat used in Squamish these days. www.flashed.com

Correction- The route is Jim's. He did it today and he says it 12- looks a bit harder to me. The hangers are normal but he used 1/2" bolts.

Jim S. and I'd bet he used glue ring bolts if they look different from the others on the wall.

new prob

Jim put up a cool new prob. on an arete up hill of the Wave boulder (autobody). Really fun moves. Iron Man was being thrown around as a name for the prob. because Jim kept singing that song and it became contagious and infected the whole group. "I am Iron Man..."
