Grand Wall Bouldering Co-op Memberships?

When are they happening? How to join? How much this year? I heard there might be a bit of a price drop this year. Any info?

Re: Wasp nest next to Viper in the Grand Wall boulders

Watch out for a bees nest at the base of a leaning tree at Hoods in the Woods at Rogues Gallery. It's near American Heavy (11a). I got stung twice while minding my own business 15ft away from it, which in my opinion was completely uncalled for.

Re: Scary days at the Smoke Bluffs......

I think it would be a good idea to stress the importance of not trusting pre-placed gear, just because you trust the person who placed it. It could have walked out of the crack, or maybe the leader placed a crappy piece knowing there were easy moves and better gear above it. Some sport climbers are ...

Re: Calling out the Hacks.

Somehow I don't think Aaron (or myself) would have been half as choked if someone fell soloing a route they were clearly capable of doing. Broken hold, slipped foot, bad luck or whatever. But this guy was clearly trying to skip a few steps between knee-high climber and Dean Potter. This complete lac...

Re: Calling out the Hacks.

That kid falling off Mosquito sounds like a total douchebag. Out of his league and not even realizing it after he fell, thinking a little "I'm sorry" will make things cool. I feel anger just reading about it let alone being there. DOUCHEBAG. Couldn't have said it better to him myself (no really I co...

I saw a couple of headlamps up there Friday night. Stuck rope? Hope it all turned out ok.

Everything right of Sammy's Frog is missing the hangers. Feel free to replace them if you have extras lying around.

Re: Base Canopy hung up the Trees Above the Badge

FWIW, the story I heard (at least fourth hand) was that 911 / SAR was called but the jumper refused help and said he would get out on his own. Not sure exactly how, but maybe climbed the last few hundred feet in the Angel's Crest area, then called to say he was on the 2nd peak and was fine. Earlier ...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)

A foot bridge / gondola across the Squamish would serve a way better purpose, get better views, get higher up, more climbing, more skiing, more of everything. You can already get to the top of the gondola (essentially) with a vehicle if you're enterprising enough. Why not go somewhere totally differ...
