Re: Cypress Falls Bouldering Topo?
PM'd the webmaster with a PDF of the old Cypress Falls Bouldering topo. Let me know if problems getting the file. But anyway, with my compliments... enjoy! Get out there and climb. You know what the problem with North Shore climbing is? Moss! Areas get developed, and then they don't get climbed, and...

Re: Cypress Falls Bouldering Topo?
There exists a reasonably comprehensive hand-drawn topo for Cypress Falls Bouldering. I think it was even drawn by Rolf, who did most of the climbing development at Cypress Falls, some number of years ago now. It used to be available for download online. This no longer seems to be the case. I'm pret...

Re: Comic Rock Roadside Graffiti
It's massive, more so than it looks in the photo or from the highway. I'd estimate 2 to 3 square metres.
When I saw it I abandoned all hope of scrubbing it clean.
Special weapons and tactics might work, or a concerted group effort...

Papoose Descent Trail Crag
There's a crag right next to the descent trail on the Papoose. It's not too far down from the summit. There are a couple of fixed ropes that have been there for at least a couple of years. One of the ropes is dangling over a prominent roof. There's a potential route there that I am considering devel...

Re: Comic Rock Roadside Graffiti
My climbing plans suddenly fell through this morning. So, I decided to put my wire brush where my mouth is and go down and have a bit of an attempt at scrubbing off the spray paint. Drove down to Comic Rocks from Squamish. When I got there, the first thing that happened was I noticed an entire famil...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
Climbed at the Bulletheads yesterday. Did Slot Machine and Cream of White Mice . It was awesome. I love the Bulletheads. The climbing has a wild, exploratory, adventurous feel. But I'm pretty sure that's not what it's going to be like once the gondola goes in. For those of you in favour of the gondo...

Re: Comic Rock Roadside Graffiti
No, seriously, what do I do? Take a wire brush to it? Or do you need chemicals as well? I don't want to be looking at that crap every day when I drive by...

Re: Comic Rock Roadside Graffiti
Well, the person with the pressure-washer, his heart was in the right place, but his efforts were, unfortunately, ineffective. The graffiti remains. And it looks like sh*t. And the stupid f*ck*r responsible ought to pay for it, somehow. Unlikely... So, it falls on us... Short of a sandblaster, how d...

Comic Rock Roadside Graffiti
Over the weekend, some total dumbass spray-painted the words MORIARTY WAS REAL on the cracked roadside slab that marks the entrance to Comic Rocks, in between Furry Creek and Britannia Beach. (Somebody told me once that the crack goes at 5.2, but it would probably also make a nice beginner V0- highb...

Re: Bon Echo Park - Mazinaw Lake, Ontario
The cliff jumping is excellent from the bottom of the bluff. Scramble up in bare feet as high as you dare and... BOMBS AWAY!!! But... beware... Mazinaw Lake is one of the deepest lakes for its size in North America. It's 145 metres deep beneath the bluff (fault shift--one side went up, the other dow...
