The NorthWest Passage
I'm interested in it. I won't be around to grovel and explore up it for some time, but while I'm locked away in the wastelands of Edmonton I am occupying my imagination with whatever tales and history of Squamish wonderment I can find. I have only been able to come across nebulous descriptions of th...

perhaps a well-constructed no climbing sign on the main access, with a concise description of the access issues at hand? noone likes no camping signs they perceive are there "for no reason", maybe if they have some background info.... and if that doesn't work, then a little note tacked on saying wha...

Perhaps if someone's feeling ambitious they could remove the old "climb down" sign? Or would this be an infraction on elements of Squamish climbing's cultural values? (I jest, I jest  ) seriously though... if it's a cool, classic way down, leave it, but maybe better signage to the new way down...

Not sure if I know personally any of the three of you, but does any of this really matter? I realize recognition for our efforts is part of why we do things, but surely the reward of seeing people enjoy something we created (or had a hand in creating) is better...(yeah, I know that's bullsh*t for th...

I'd reccomend starting by going out with a friend who's willing to show you the ropes, then look at the guiding option once you've got a basis to start from - then you're not paying for what a monkey can teach you.

Surely this topic is by now beaten to death not only on this post, but in many others, but I thought I might add that the devising and implementing of new, better gear and rubber soles can also be viewed as "bringing the rock down to the climber's level" If you truly want to meet the rock on it's ow...

Grading: To Sandbag, or not to Sandbag?
I originally started this post in the “Milk Road” thread, but as I’m procrastinating from writing a paper this quickly became long-winded and off topic, so I’ve posted it here to avoid highjacking that thread. In regards to the grading on The Milk Road: It's a subtle game, isn’t it? Of course noone ...

Garfield is absolutely fantastic, and while technically 5.7 (and possibly the best 5.7 in the Sea to Sky: flame war and debate begin!), it is comitting, exposed, and may feel like 5.10 to a new tradster. It is long too, and may use up a thin rack, although there are placements of virtually all sizes...
