Re: Mount Habrich
The road is doable, with a 4WD and a bit of lift. You could do it without the lift, but be prepared to bottom out a couple times. Just to be clear, he means do-able with 4WD, but only up to the boulder blockade. As far as I know, not even the 4x4 elite in Squamish (many of whom have very impressive...

Re: Gear for Butt Face?
Boomstick is like a long traverse, too, so if you don't put your number 3 in there not only are you going to be unprotected, but so is your partner.
You are multi-pitch adventure climbing on the Chief. Why not just take a number 3?

Re: New Fixed Chain on Broadway
A chain? That's absurd.
Who put it there?
Seriously, I want to know who.
And why.
Because, it's in all likelihood going to get chopped, by someone, and now we will have ugly bolt scars adorning the classic Apron sketchy 4th class traverse, which only ever used to require a belay, if that!

Senior Centre Access Trail
I am back in town and will be looking in to access from the Elsie Lake trail, there is a game trail connecting it to the top of the Senior center. The problem is that it could be a 30-40 minute approach and sport climbers are notoriously lazy. Anyone have a GPS and interested in helping me wack som...

Re: Sullys projects
You can read quite a bit about it on this thread: http://www.squamishclimbing.com/squamish_climbing_bb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=103&start=15&hilit=senior And it probably would be better to carry on the conversation in that thread. But in short, the problem is that the paved roads that are used to access ...

Re: Where are people climbing this weekend?
Top secret.
If I revealed that information, then everybody would be like "I wanna go, there, too!"
And then I would have all kinds of competition trying to get on sketchy, old-school climbing routes...
Oops...?

Re: Recommended approach to Star Chek
I dunno, I've done the hike approach twice, and for me, it barely registered a 2 out of 10 on the Sketchy Scale (and believe me, my Sketchometer is a very sensitive instrument). However, the plentiful loose rock on the top of the route definitely registers a 3 out of 10 on the Sketchy Scale... Take ...

Re: Passing etiquette on a multi pitch
I'm hearing more and more of these types of stories these days. More and more people I see out there climbing are complete and utter idiots with no real idea what they are doing or how it impacts other people, let alone themselves. I think they should stop giving away belay devices as cereal box pri...

Re: Sullys projects
One of the benefits that Sully's has is that the LSCR is already very familiar with mountain bike riders developing and using resources within their area. In a lot of ways, climbers developing a resource in the LSCR is not so different. How it works with the mountain bikers is that there is a lot of...

Re: Sullys projects
The issue is the official stance of the LSCR. I partially witnessed the "introduction" of Sully's to LSCR officials. The "official stance" of the LSCR has likely "softened" in the last several years as they have gotten used to climbers being up there. Obviously, they haven't yet shut down the area,...
