Re: buh bye summah
Do it! I regret few things as much as missing an epic season and it looks like we are going to have a second year of La Nina-produced snowfall.
Eat ramen, leave the pipe empty, lay off the beer .. do what you need to do to get on the hill.

Re: Sullys projects
Any update here? I'd love to know whether those projects on the topo have bee sent and, if so, what they're rated. There are some really fun lines at Sully's ... it was my favourite crag this summer.
I know that there is at least one red tag remaining .. have the others been sent / named?

That was a pretty decent read .. thanks. Much better than the usual climbing tripe to which we are subjected, anyway.

Re: Split Beaver 5.10b New video, nice shooting
I thought slopr's reply was a good description of what he recommends bringing for the climb. The fact that it differs from what you guys would bring is hardly a reason to piss on his cornflakes. If I was racking up for this route, given the beta provided here, I'd take slopr's advice and leave the #...

Re: Wasp nest next to Viper in the Grand Wall boulders
There are also a couple of nests near the trail on the hike in to Sully's and another nest near the end of the path at the crag itself.
I recommend against bringing oranges or other sweet fruit ... the smell made me quite popular with the winged nasties.

I'm offering you props for using perhaps the best simile I've ever seen on a climbing forum.Fre wrote:I saw 2 maybe 3 tickmarks on the second part of Filibuster, didn't really use or notice them I think since by this time I was sweating and grunting like a pregnant rhino.

oh for gawds sake... If you felt that strongly about it, you should've just cleaned it yourself. But you didn't. So don't b%$ch. And don't use the belay if you don't like it... princess... 8) +1 ...and more to the point: don't even start to b%$tch until you've cleaned/contributed at least 10% of wh...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
well i've got a question for you. How do you intend to keep all those "more people" out of "your play ground"? They're coming wether you like it or not. What makes you think that I intend to do anything of the sort? Furthermore since when is it just our or your playground? since when is this valley...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
I agree with psi4ce.
I honestly don't understand why we, as a community, want more people in our playground. Huts and outhouses are convenient but far from necessary and detract from the adventure, imo.

Re: Gnarly Bail(s) caught on tape
To answer your real question, yes that was a shitty belay. Falling that far from the crux on Partners In Crime with a piece at your feet is just "Bad" Belaying, it ain't sport climbing, suck in the slack! I'm glad that i'm not the only one who thought that. A belayer needs to do more than just hold...
