Re: Alpine rock in North Joffre creek

Our visit to this area wasn't a complete success, but it was still great to get to see this amazing place and climb some terrific alpine granite. You guys have done a remarkable job at clearing the approach trail... and I'm sure it will continue to improve as the route becomes more popular, as I'm s...

We're driving tonight to climb tomorrow. Will flick your rope to the south side. Looking forward to checking the route out!

Re: New routes above and beyond area

Approach as for regular "Squaw" routes (Birds of Prey, Great Game, Jungle Warfare etc)... Parking is about 1.5km's down the Mamquam FSR. From the base of the cliff you traverse to the right past Jungle Warfare and Flight Simulator before the trail heads towards the Chief. It's well marked and signed...

Re: New routes above and beyond area

Had a great day on Split Decision on Saturday - What a cool area! We took the Squaw approach and didn't see another person back there all day. I bet the backside trail would have been crazy. The climb itself was fantastic as well. Four quality pitches, each of them a ton of fun. Pitch 3 is stupidly ...

Re: Borderline Dryness

To the best of my memory all the best pitches should be fine if we don't get anymore precip. The stellar pitch at the top of blazing saddles in particular should be fine since it is sheltered by the small roof at the top. I climbed borderline a day after it rained and don't remember wetness being an...

Found: Anchors at upper Malamute

Found anchor systems (runners etc) on upper Malamute Oct 1st. Please contact with details if these are yours. I would have left them for the owner to return but know from experience that usually someone else will take first without reporting.

Anyways - hope the owner reads this.

Anchors left at Lighthouse Park last Sunday

This is really a last ditch effort, but in the haste of trying to run away from the rain last sunday (May 30th) I forgot to grab my anchors which consisted of two runners and 4(!) lockers... They were left on the less-used bolts above the supposed 5.12 (area between Double Overhang and The Big Pin)....

I've always thought of "Dreams of Passion" at Ronin's Corner as a typical high-quality squamish slab pitch. Also have a soft spot for "Foot in the Gravy" because my buddy and I used to get dropped off at the top of Burgers when we were 13 or 14 years old and setup a top-rope for a good ol' thrutch f...

I've been wondering what the deal is with these tents for awhile and the fact that the community seems to be growing concerns me. I'm all for free camping but multiple tents in a high profile area such as the malamute could seriously threaten future access to the crag - a scary prospect for those of...
