Re: Slesse: bypass glacier condition ?

An update for those looking at getting on the NE Buttress. Bypass glacier is still in place and is vomiting ice at regular intervals across the slabs below. Was most active just after 7am or so, when the sun fully hits it. A couple real biggies mid-morning and I wondered if we'd get to see the whole...

Re: Cypress Falls Bouldering Topo?

Also, the Cypress Creek crags Knuckle Head, Tombstone Tower, and Cougar, are currently in their best condition for climbing. Second that. We had a great evening at Cougar Crag last week. MUCH cooler down there and a sweater was nice for the belays. The 10b and 10c on the right are a bit mungy but t...

Re: Nervous Ticks (sic)

Someone else started a discussion about this awhile back (far less poetically though!) as well: http://squamishclimbing.com/squamish_climbing_bb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3882 Last night Crime of the Century had 2" long horizontal tics for its whole length, as well as a large ugly chalk smear running down...

Re: Alexis Cracks Wasp Nest

Could almost use a Wasp Nest specific thread this year! Came across one last night near the top of Partners in Climb at Penny Lane. It's probably about 12feet below the anchors. Stuck my hand in, felt something flutter against my fingers and heard a buzz, but didn't get stung. Looked like a few of t...

Re: Tick marks

I've noticed the same over the past couple seasons and find it to be a really bothersome trend… While I'm more or less resigned to (but not necessarily stoked about) the presence of tick marks at sport crags, I've started seeing them more and more on classic multi-pitch routes as well as single pitc...

Re: Smoke Bluffs Park Top Ten Climbs

Someone recommended Supervalue and Turbocharger Supervalue is definitely a top 10'er in the bluffs for me. Quite different in nature from a lot of other SB climbs with a mix of crack and face climbing, and it's pretty long too. Turbocharger is fun too, but I wouldn't think top 10. Also, you'd proba...

Re: Squamishlurker.com

Nope... been skiing and not climbing much this spring, but if I happen to climb something that could benefit from an increase in exposure I'll likely post. If someone asks a question that I feel I'm well suited to answer, I'll likely respond. If I ever climb Skywalker, I probably won't post. Anyways...

Re: Squamishlurker.com

I find this forum to be super useful for route information and other things pertaining to Squamish. Last summer in particular, when there was a serious gluttony of new climbs and retros being put up (like at the Above and Beyond area, Squaw Leftside, Bullethead East, B.K.'s North Joffre Creek line a...

I might be okay now..... my buddy got a job at some shop in Whis so discounted boards might be on the go...... Dude - keep your ears open for the ROI (Recreation Outfitters) warehouse sale... They had a former affiliation with Option Snowboards and will likely be clearing out whatever boards they h...
