Last week of scrub brush nominations/ Tickets on sale now

Hey All: So it is raining out this weekend and thus a good time to scan your memory bank for those new great routes you have climbed over the past few years. It is hard to believe the Squamish climbing community is so unadventurous to have climbed no new routes so get those nominations in. Also tick...

Re: 2015 Golden Scrub Brush Awards - Event info and Nominati

I want to add a couple of nominations to those listed above. Hard trad single pitch: The Moustache Women, 11b, Quercus Wall, Murrin. Jay Green, Ryan Davy. 2015. A long sustained hand traversing pitch with glassy footholds characteristic of Murrin, this climb is a real arm burner. Plus Jay and Ryan c...

Re: 2015 Golden Scrub Brush Awards - Event info and Nominati

With the days in the 2015 Squamish climbing season waning, I would like to post a few nominations for this year's Scrub Brush Awards, primarily in the Trad categories as that is what I climb. Best Retro scrub: Jump to Light Speed, 10d, Shannon Falls. Kris Wild, 2014. Because it is easily one of the ...

Re: New take on an old route at Shannon Falls

One thing I have noted in this conversation is that the climbers advocating not putting the bolt in the top runout of this climb regularly climb (or in one case onsight free solo) at significantly harder grades and thus are comfortable with the runout because the climbing is relatively easy for them...

Re: Olesen Creek Logging Commencement

SAS was informed by BCTS yesterday that logging of SW 144 is to be deferred to 2016 due poor lumber markets presently. SAS is to be informed if and when prior to harvesting of this block.

Generally, if you want people to climb your new stuff you should provide a decent description as to its location. There are lots of rocks in Murrin Park.

Re: SAS Trail day

Hi All: Unfortunately the weather and extreme fire hazard has forced the trail day objective to change.
