I don't think that anyone believes that the real issue here is that VOC is trying to exclude anyone from being allowed to climb here. IMO the issue is more about the impact of big groups in popular areas and it is something that will become more of an issue as climbing gets even more popular. A new ...

Re: VOC Longhike head up

Hi all, I just wanted to give you all a heads up that the VOC is going to be all around Squamish on Saturday and maybe also on Sunday. I think its roughly 200 people this year if if you want peace and quiet it might be best to find somewhere hard or somewhere other than Squamish this weekend. I thi...

Ah well, it's better without all those trees anyway, way easier to see the path now. Yeah much quicker now, and a few good boulder problems too which kinda makes up for the ones that got blown up on the other side of the road. This news will definitely reduce the squatting/camping that has become p...

Thanks t-bone. That seems like logical and good advice. White lightning was actually one of the next ones was looking at leading, Crack slabbeth with the 10b variation as well. I like the upper apron stuff, a fun intro into the headyness of slab. Grim Reaper is off a bit in the distance for me righ...

I don't know if i agree that all squamish grades are soft, there are definitely soft climbs and entire areas that may be considered soft, in this case freeway is not know for being crazy sustained 11+ climbing the entire way. Lets not forget that there are also a lot of testpieces in squam too, just...

I would recommend chuck-chuck, the lounge area has a few easy pitches on nice, clean rock with nobody around. Topo is available on this site. The only con is u need a bit of clearance to get there or it's a bit of a hike (40 min?). I wouldn't call the bolted routes @ the malamute "sport" climbs, the...

Hey bearbreeder you probably won't need any gear as this is the easiest multipitch around even by beginner standards and there is only one crux move on the entire climb with a bolt above your head. If you have led any single pitch on squamish granite you have nothing to worry about. Have fun it's a ...

He (chopper) better hurry, the staples are multiplying @ an exponential rate and seeing as Barley has more free time than the rest of us as he doesn't use internet or have a job, all of squamish could soon be retro'ed with staples. There is now a staple line up non-descript zero star slab that start...
