Re: Howe Sound west, across from Britannia Beach
I think the idea with the Howe Sound water-access crags is that they are supposed to take some of the pressure off popular areas like the Smoke Bluffs and Grand Wall Base.

Unfortunately, you'll be hard-pressed to get beta on ascents and such. However, who knows, someone might pipe up! Good luck!

That being said, those are some fairly nice (if somewhat surface-rotten) hunks of rock. Nevertheless, there's essentially no beta (t...

A few years ago, I was belaying off the tree at the top of Calculus Crack. Unfortunately, I couldn't help but notice someone had discarded a pair of heavily soiled men's underwear briefs nearby...

Re: Multi Pitch Politeness when stuck behind slow folks.
I agree as well. "Slow" is relative. Point A. Sure, there are times when passing another party can be considered appropriate. And, usually, it all works out just fine. I mean if a party is truly slow and there is a major issue with that, the slow party usually knows it and usually will co-operate. P...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
Ya! But, seriously? From the sounds of it, that's what everybody wants anyways. The "strip mall" effect is the real risk here i think.
Quick hits from the crack pipe.

Re: Gnarly Bail(s) caught on tape
Crime of the Century is way outta my league as a lead climb. So, I'm just talking through my hat. But, the beta I've noticed (from watching the "Crime Show" of course--after all, there is a bench right there now) is to "place at the waist" and clip there too. The main benefit is supposed to be that ...
