Re: Iceclimbing - the bluffs?

A couple of short smears have formed near Pregnant Paws as well, haven't seen anyone on them before but they could go. A survey of every crag in the bluffs for climbable ice could be done in a day or two. Not sure about today's temps, but up until this morning things were still looking beauty.

Re: Iceclimbing - the bluffs?

I've seen people climbing a thin smear on or near Squamish Logger, between Penney Lane and Bughouse, on some thick flow near a short new route at Funarama Centre called Short & Snappy, and Matt Madaloni climbed Frozen Zombie (M8) 2 winters ago at the Zombie Roof: http://squamishclimbing.com/squamish...

Re: Dry Tooling

Sounds like it could be interesting, I'll try to get up there and check it out sometime. It would be an amazing view.

Re: Dry Tooling

Thanks Scrubber, I have seen the crag. Unfortunately the bolts are getting swallowed by the moss, but it's definitely a fun looking little zone. It looks interesting further up the hill above the talus, but I've heard it's all rotten up there. Anything promising that you know of at the margins of th...

Re: The Little Smoke Bluffs

From the Smoke Bluffs Park Management Plan: "Selective clearing of trees along the base of crags, and regular cleaning of vegetation and debris from the individual climbing routes, is necessary to maintain and enhance these natural assets for climbing." The vegetation maintenance that was done was l...

Re: The Little Smoke Bluffs

I've been wanting to clean up Respirator Rock for a while now, but lacking on time, motivation, etc. Those moderate roof cracks have always peaked my interest, and I've been astounded at how much moss has grown over that 5.7 crack next door. There is a pond there most of the spring and it keeps the ...

1996 Subaru Legacy

AWD, 5spd manual, high kms but regular maintenance and will last forever. Clean, never dirt bag driven (ok just not driven by really dirty dirt bags), probably a few cheerios stuffed behind the seats though. $2000 obo.

Re: The Diggers

Nice article Jeremy, too bad you couldn't put yourself in there. You've done more than enough to earn a spot. Anything going on these days? I noticed a fixed rope on a right slanting crack near the Bottom Line.

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)

Well said Tenn. This is just the first step in securing the rights to occupy crown and park land, and clear trees to build the proposal. There are significant hurdles yet to cross, many of which depend, at least in part, on public sentiment for the proposal. I liked how Sean Easton chose to speak ou...
