Was hard to tell exactly where, but we definitely saw a party in the area of Millenium Falcon yesterday (we were on cruel shoes which is why it was hard to tell which route). Maybe BC Parks/Access society needs to post a few more signs. Most of the locals know of the seasonal closures but visiting c...

I was going to put something about it not being a real el cap route. But then I thought whatever... Did the e. butt a while ago - not an el cap route. but quite a bit of good climbing too. West face looks like a good next step. Looked at the topo last night at the co-op - pretty doable Anybody recom...

any body got a topo of the west face of el cap?

Looking for some inspiration for the summer/fall.

Anyone ever do this route? Seems like its fairly doable as a one day el cap route.

thanks and enjoy the winter...

Sounds like he got off lucky. Glad to hear it. Met Jim a couple of times around the chief. Nothing but respect for the guy - no ego, still in it for the fun and a completely nice guy. Speedy recovery Jim!

Thanks Sarah. I injured my knee end of march too. Getting suregery in July but I had to wait for other injuries to heal up. Will have a complete ACL replacement nad other work. Actually dislocated my knee (which is quite hard to do apparently). Sounds like the key is excercising the knee - got that ...

That's nothing new. Not that I condone or understand it - its the freakin bluffs afterall. Not like its El Cap or even the grand wall.

Come to think of it, belays on both the nose and the grand are bolted from bottom to top. For some reason it can't happen in the bluffs...

Hi Sarah
What kind of knee surgery? Two months post and climbing? Sounds pretty good. I'm looking at getting surgery in the next month or so - would like to hear about how your recovery is going. How long did it take to get the surgery in the first place?
thanks

Every time I'm roping up at the base of exasperator I definitely think twice about safety. Those that don't know some one got dropped there are more likely to repeat past mistakes. People need to realize that climbing IS a dangerous sport and mistakes are way too costly. It can happen to you. Condol...

Denman cobbler on denman street seems to be the best deal. Could also try goldstar at 16th and alma or rinos across from MEC. I think that Newport Cobbler in Squamish is closed down?

Not sure exactly what trees tattooed is so choked about but last time I was in the bluffs I noticed alot of BC hydro brushing had been done - they clear the powerline out every few years. I also noticed that someone replaced anchors at the base of wonderland and white rabbit and at the top of white ...

From CASBC Murrin Provincial Park One key matter seems to have been addressed. The original plan was for a full three lane highway from Britannia to Shannon Falls, with blasting to accommodate a future four lanes. This would have severely damaged cliffs through Murrin Park, including Leviticus, site...

Well I figured that was cap canyon but assumed it must have been on the only established route that I know of. That 11- trad line put up by Barley that doesn't look to take alot of pro. Was pretty impressed with Rolf looking so relaxed on what I deemed to be a somewhat desperate route (what with all...

Mutation is a great route from what I remember. Seems harder than the .11c just left of "everyone's first .12a" at the circus wall. Sorry, don't remember the names but you know where I mean right? What about the right side of the pillar? Should it be 5.9? Heard that before. More questions for the ha...
