Scale model of The Chief
A data visualisation firm, Corbel 3D, and Sea To Sky Air recently collaborated to make accurate 3D measurements of the Chief. You can see the results here http://corbel3d.com/digital-terrain-model/ ... takes a while to load. They also created a plastic model, using a 3D printer, which can be viewed ...

New bolts right of Slipping Clutch, Bluffs
We did Slipping Clutch at Black Zawn today. Just to its right, someone has squeezed in another bolt line. Very recently, I guess, as there is still dust from the drilling visible. Anyone know any details?

Re: New perma-dry route(s), Halfway House, Rogues Gallery
OK, both lines are now complete to mid-height and have had multiple ascents, so there's some grade consensus. Don't Mention The War 5.11b 5 bolts Bouldery start into a fun juggy roof, then easier terrain. Fawlty Towers 5.11c 8 bolts The sustained overhanging line starting off the cheat log. I'll sor...

Re: New perma-dry route(s), Halfway House, Rogues Gallery
Yeah it is starting to look quite solid now. I have added bolts to the left-hand line and hope to complete it this week. I also looked again at the extension through the top roof. It is climbable but there's a very large block that may need removing that will requires some more serious equipment tha...

Re: Apron Descent Hand Line Needs Replacement
After Kris, Reuben and I explored the lower half of Squamish Buttress on Tuesday, we did an experiment. We rappelled to the top of the Apron - a point just south of Baldwin Ledge. They then rappelled via the relatively new rappel route into South Gully. Do you mean down this thing, Anders? http://s...

Re: Squamish Rampage Bouldering Comp.
Hagakure in Index, WA was suggested on Facebook. Looks right to me: http://vimeo.com/78307337joewtc wrote: Special prizes will be given to people who know what's the boulder in the Rampage poster
I guess that nice flat landing is a better sell to the gym folk in Van than the heinous Squamish reality.

Re: Squamish Rampage Bouldering Comp.
To answer your question Toby, no I do not have kids, although I do remember pulling that sh*t on my parents once upon a time. I don't know how it went down .... Well I do. I am not especially into slandering people - and anyway as a simple Squamish guy I tend to assume everyone from the big city is...

Re: Squamish Rampage Bouldering Comp.
When I first read about this thing, it seemed like a terrible idea (squeezing more cars into a car park that is already overflowing on summer weekends, crowding out popular problems, trail erosion, a general feeling that comps belong indoors) but I guessed that was just me being a tedious old fart, ...

Re: Squamish Rampage Bouldering Comp.
Joe, would you mind explaining again the precise steps by which you got this event approved? When you contacted BC Parks, did you claim to have already consulted other local groups?
