Re: Simpson - Strong Tie Bolts - Warning

The off shore manufactured argument isn't really relevant, since Hilti manufactures it's wedge anchors in China and also in Mexico. I have a business account with Hilti, just spoke with a Hilti representative for Canada, 304 SS wedge anchour material is sourced and manufactured in Mexico. I am looki...

Manslaughter charges filed in Tito's death

http://www.dpmclimbing.com/articles/view/manslaughter-charges-filed-after-titos-accident So opinions? Could the same charges be filed under our Canadian judicial system? Then it begs the question, " What would happen if there was an accident caused by a faulty fixed draw that caused a fatality?" And...

Re: Squamish adopts Guidelines for route dev. in Smoke Bluff

A step in the right direction, with a lot of consideration put in by all the parties. My one concern is section 1.4 Role of the Climbers Advisory Group (CAG) The role of the CAG is to advise BC Parks on the management of the three Squamish area Provincial Parks—Stawamus Chief, Shannon Falls, and Mur...

Re: Cypress Falls Bouldering Topo?

The rating on that route is 10D not B I spent a great afternoon at Knuklehead Crag Last week , nice and dry! 4 routes 5.8-5.11c. These routes are excellent and deserve more traffic. Take a small rack for Cypress Crack 5.9 ,so....o sweet. You can TR the 5.11's when you rap in, but they are well bolte...

Re: Senior Centre Access Trail

I did a google earth search and the distance from the head of the Elsie lake trail off Mt Seymour road to the crag is a bit over one mile as the crow flys. If you have time one afternoon it still may be worth a try.

Re: Cypress Falls Bouldering Topo?

There is another bouldering area in Cypress just past the bridge above the falls, don't cross the bridge, stay on the same side. There are about 20+ problems on three crags, from V1 to V4/5. A few classic problems at a harder grade are still there for the picking. Most of the problems were unearther...

Re: Sullys projects

I am back in town and will be looking in to access from the Elsie Lake trail, there is a game trail connecting it to the top of the Senior center. The problem is that it could be a 30-40 minute approach and sport climbers are notoriously lazy. Anyone have a GPS and interested in helping me wack some...

Re: Smoke Bluffs Park Top Ten Climbs

Point Blank is a double entendre, I named it after a Clint Eastwood movie and since the crux comes at a blank point. Back in the day and still on my sunny day list, these are my top 10 Bluff climbs, not in any specific order 1. Cold Comfort 2. Super value 3.Token Brits 4. Mosquito and the Connection...

Re: new routes at Fern Hill?

We climbed Lady Switcher and Story of My Life yesterday . Two great and totally different style routes. Lady Switcher is IMO the best 5.11 sport route in all of Squamish. 5.11B hard. (and that's not a fluffy grade) Story of My Life is like bouldering on a rope, V3/4 problem, can I suggest 5.11+ Nice...

Re: Climbing policies

Sounds like McIntyre Bluff.
I will be living in the interior from April till October in the future, if you need a hand and a drill send me a PM.
Always wondered about the quality of the rock? Seems that there is some potential but it would have to compete with Skaha for quality.
