Re: Gnarly Bail(s) caught on tape
What climb is it? What I have been told in terms of clipping, is place your gear where it fits best (sometimes not easy when you're pumped and need a panic piece) and clip from a stable position. If you can get a piece in up over your head, but you are in a comfortable stance, then by all means go f...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
Yeah, I guess I'm fairly biased around the whole deal...... I am by no means a super proactive person, but I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the whole concept of, 'why walk when we can take the lift/heli/sled/sedan chair up'? I'm always stoked to top out on first peak to see the large...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
second, outdoor recreation should be encouraged throughout all our society for multiple reasons and not just hoarded for those of us who are somehow more deserving or have the stomach for a good bushwack. I wouldn't say we are more deserving per se, but I think that the view and all that is much mo...

Beta for Memorial Crack QUICK!
I know it's only a 5.9 and kinda last minute, but I'm thinking about doing it tomorrow, just wondering if I could get some beta for it?
Thanks

Re: Scary days at the Smoke Bluffs......
Definitely was a learning experience..... Maybe in the future when I have more confidence in myself then I won't have any issues preplacing gear for people who want to try and lead, but until then, if someone wants to lead, it's their gear that they're going to fall on. I wasn't expecting anyone els...

Re: Scary days at the Smoke Bluffs......
Just an afterword: TL/DR is not appreciated. I know it's long, but that happened to be the length it took me to describe the story in detail. Also, I'm not necessarily looking for any negative criticism. Constructive criticism as to what in my power could have been done differently might be nice, bu...

Scary days at the Smoke Bluffs......
So I drove up to Squamish today with this girl who I hadn't met or climbed with before. We were going to meet up with some of her friends who were visiting from Ontario to climb. Found them at the south end of Burgers and Fries, sorta just hung out and chatted, they told me what types of climbs they...

Re: Partner Wanted for Hard Multipitch
I'm definitely willing to follow...... Might be willing to take some of the leads on the 11- pitches. Can't get better if I don't push myself, right?

Re: Not a rock!
I think that while on a climb, if someone yells something with a touch of urgency, people are going to notice, no matter what is yelled.
If someone above me yelled SH*T or any other word of the four letter variety, I'd sure as hell be ducking. Hopefully it isn't actually sh*t......

Siwash Rock?
Anyone climbed it? Is there a specific route up it, or do you just go? Which side is best to climb on?
Which side is best to jump off of once up? (Not dive, I've read that plaque) High tide only......
I'm thinking of giving it a go, just not sure how solid the rock is.....

Re: 5.10 crack testpieces
Apron Strings is definitely sustained, and I'm proud to call it my best onsight yet. I got the redpoint of both Gords Block and SMs Delight the other day, both of which were good climbs. Gords took me a couple days to work out. The final pitch of Peasant's Route has a bolt, but it's a test piece for...
