Re: Slesse Mountain trip Report (September 2012)

Sounds like the Crossover Pass route went mostly smoothly. The fact that Travis wrote so little about it perhaps is a testimony to the instructions working reasonably well. That's great to hear! The one area that seemed to cause trouble was the top of the flagged trail: The initial sections of the t...

Peru Huayhuash Alpine Circuit

It's not Squamish... but Squamish is my home. And I thought some folks might like to know about this. This has to be one of the... if not *the*... finest alpine circumnavigations on the planet. I "discovered" it about a decade ago while researching for a guidebook. This winter, I finally sat down an...

Sang. I've looked at it and thought about it and came to the same conclusion that you did. Identical really. There is a crack line to the right of Birds of Prey but left of Bump Pumice. It would be another option... Is you gearing up for a monster dig this winter?

Re: Slhany (sic?) - right wing

Greetings from Winnipeg! This thread is music to my eyes! I'm so glad to see people getting eaten up by Right Wing. If you get your a$% kicked on this route, know that I know your pain. I sympathize. But as impossible as it feels... as it once felt to me, after 5 years of attempts, I did get the rou...

Re: New Fixed Chain on Broadway

Greetings from Manitoba!

The chain about which many of you bicker... I put it there.

Like it? Grab it as you walk past.

Dislike it? Chop it. The bolts are overdrilled. Clean it up nice.

Re: SAS Re-bolting Phase 3 completed

There's about 20 things I love about Squamish. One of them is that our hardware is top-notch. Thanks to SAS and those who contributed to this project, our hardware is even better. Hats off to SAS and to route developers who do it right.

Re: Skywalker, 5p, 5.8

Jer F K says "Ask not what Squamish can do for you. Ask what you can do for Squamish." Last time up Skywalker, I noticed that the cracks were getting filled in... especially at the end of P3, end of P1, and EPB variation. So last night, I did a little tidy mission and cleaned out the dirt and needle...

t2climb,
What's the matter with you? I think your brain's going soft with all that comedy you're playing with those grade school children. Never tell anybody outside the family what you're thinking again.

Relic,
It was a complete deforestation bio meltdown from the pic I saw after posting before. Way to go team.

Re: Bolted Dyke/Slab right of Skywalker?

Keith Wright wrote me about this pitch: The first route was the sport route up the right leaning dyke. It looked really inviting from the ground with the upper section of curved, (either glacial polished, or water polished) "dishes". I rap bolted it by hand over the summer, 2003. I worked the route ...
