Re: Manslaughter charges filed in Tito's death

Gross negligence is not intent to harm, more like a negligence to prevent harm through gross dereliction of duty. As I understand it anyway. Waivers protect you from negligence but not gross negligence, such as guiding while drunk or something. I'm sure Anders could clarify better. Somebody bungled ...

Re: Alpine rock in North Joffre creek

North Joffre creek is now an active logging road. The good news is that it is now buffed 2WD to the parking spot and the bulk of the logging / road building is just past that, up a new switch back. The bad news is that it is now possible to get squashed like a bug by a rock truck or logging truck. I...

Re: Poll: Sea to Sky Gondola Proposal

That is a fairly fantastical leap you are making in equating the environmental effect of the Britannia / Anaconda Mine with a gondola. This analogy of yours again illustrates how we can only guess that your grasp of reality is influenced somehow by some low grade mind altering chemicals. If you don'...

Re: Habrich - Life on Earth - Conditions?

For the sake of clarity ( so little is lost in translation) Jayson Faulkner asked me to post this last email recieved: Here is how it should be working and hopefully how it should be working from now on but please let us know if it is not the case. 1) On road access. We have worked on the road but i...

Re: Poll: Sea to Sky Gondola Proposal

Jesse James, you continue to come across as a bit of a meth head. For starters you're a bit more than a day late / dollar short in your opposition. Anders could have used your outrageous hyperbole a couple of years ago. Whats with the freak out now? The least you could do is make sense. Those loggin...

Re: Habrich - Life on Earth - Conditions?

To the best of my ability, this my determination of the current road status: Open to public when construction traffic is not active. Closed all other times. typically, it is open 5 pm through until 0700 daily monday to friday as well as 24 hours Saturday and sunday. Unfortunately, there may be varia...

Re: Poll: Sea to Sky Gondola Proposal

OK I'll bite. About the gondola..... wether you love it or hate it, what exactly do you have against the idea of fleecing fat slobs from Vancouver? But really I have to protest your characterization of the forestry industry. You see the problem is, if you can't stand the thought of taking money from...

Re: Heli evac off north walls

I'm surprised that there is any argument here. If there is ever an accident no matter where it is, everyone in the vicinity should immediately put all their own desires and needs on hold and offer assistance, if safe to do so. If that assistance requires that you not pass, so be it. whether its an o...

Re: New Route by Glenn Woloski - Fog Ducker Spire

tom gruber and i climbed it the other day. Overall, nice route and a truly MONUMENTAL (emphasis on mental!) cleaning effort. Anybody repeating it will see what we mean. All ledges have had entire eco systems exterminated in the pursuit of granite . Still a little dusty and scaly but it wil clean up ...

Re: Gauntlet / Millenium Falcon?

no worries. The crowds pushed us off the grand over to there, but things worked out fine anyway. Is she all good to go then? It also looks like you linked MF into the Gauntlet or something up around pitch 3?

Gauntlet / Millenium Falcon?

Anybody know the status of the major scrub job going on at MF / Gauntlet?

It is currently unaccessible with closure tape and signage threatening doom. Lottsa people out climbing these days.

winter / spring alpine routes that are good to go

Here are a few ideas for routes that are top quality and are good to go. I can't post pics here so here are links to photos: 1) Garibaldi North face (Kelly / Hunt) WI 2-3, M easy, 9 pitches. Easy day return from squamish with a sled approach up Brohm ridge. Very good intro route to technical alpine ...

Geez Bruce, if you would just listen to me in the first place
right you are Peter! I guess initially i really didn't consider the traffic volume, especially going back down. Anyway I now think you're right about that.
