Just to confirm. We're talking about a wild animal and not an older confident woman who is looking to make friends with some younger men, right?

ok. All joking aside. I think Chek used to be Crown land... but it is now a BC recreation area. I don't think that guns are common at picnics.

I think the fastest way on map quest or something similar is Washington central (Yakima) then Oregon to Idaho onto I-15 through Utah into Arizona (north west corner) then to Vagas.

I did this years ago and we went slow stopping to eat at restaurants, but we did it in 24hrs.

Chek upgrades

Wow. The road up to Chek has improved dramatically. My car made it all the way to the top and the wheels did not spin once. I think that we should all try to not peel-out on the upper section to help maintain the road. Looks like they'll be putting in some grass in the parking lots and really making...

I'm glad that everyone is having fun with this thread. I was worried that maybe there would be someone out there that didn't have a sense of humor and would actually take this thread to be an official attempt to categorically classify climbers. Its great that we can all look at ourselves and laugh a...

Term Definitions

I've recently heard some terms used to describe certain types of climbers. I'm just looking for some definitions. Gumby-?? Punter-?? Professional Climber-?? Pro-Ho-?? Pinkpoint-?? Brownpoint-?? And while we're at it.... how about these ones. Sport Climber-?? Trad Climber-?? Boulderer-?? Aid Climber-??

I won't say what climb it was and I'll only add that it was the weekend. But the party that was holding everyone up, took 25min to get through a 5.6 20m section on a route that is 5.9 We were climbing with just the one rope so bailing was not an option and as a result had to descend in the total dar...

Passing on long routes

Should "slower" climbers allow "faster" climbers pass on long multi-oitch routes? Can climbers ask to pass? The situation I was faced with was we were caught up behind 3 average speed parties who were caught up behind a really slow party. Behind us was a couple that was really going fast. I felt inc...
