Re: squamish conditions?

Anyone have any beta on what conditions are like in the Smoke Bluffs today? I'm not even sure what I'm looking at on the webcam. Weather looks good tomorrow and I'd love to head up to Penny Lane if it's not likely to be damp every which where. Any info from any locals would be amazing.

Can you be a little more specific on where you're going? 200 is a lot of people and it's the first nice weekend in a month.

Really?

Yea it's really easy for some routes, namely Poster Boy and A Little Testis.

Wicker Cranium is a little sketchy, I set up a TR on it last year for some friends on a rest day, and I chose to repel to the anchor if I remember correctly. I'm a big 'fraidy cat though, it might not have been that bad.

Steep Bolted Roofs above Roman Chimneys?

There's two distinct and gnarly looking bolted lines up a ~45 degree overhang around the topout for the Roman Chimneys, about a four minute scramble left of The Penthouse. Anybody have any beta on these? One of them looks at least marginally moderate (5.11?), couldn't find any info in the books or o...

Thanks all for the advice. Yeah, that was much different than I thought it'd be. Very safe, there were three parties who were already on the top when we got there including a 12 year old girl...so safe. I can't imagine going there and not going to the "top". We took the gully on the left, was a bree...

Anyone ever climb Black Tusk?

I've never been but I'm heading up tomorrow. Been having trouble finding any detailed information on making it to the summit. Best I can find is that it's do-able but recommended for experienced rock climbers only because there's an excess of loose rock. So, is it unbelievable choss up there, or is ...

Favorite Small Gear for Squamish Granite?

Just wondering what people find is the most dependable camming unit for our granite cracks. I'm looking to double up on some smaller sizes (I currently have Metolius Ultralight Powercams 1-4 and a .5 Camalot for smaller cams) and was considering Metolius Ultralight TCUs, and was wondering if anyone ...

"Which areas, with easy climbs, are relatively quiet compared to Burgers and Fries, neat and cool, Pennylane, etc? We would rather repeat a route multiple times than wait in line for a specific climb. In my experience, nowhere at the Smoke Bluffs is particularly quiet, *especially* the easy routes. ...
