Get on it early! no, get on the second shift-- every yuppie cunt and their girl/boyfriend will be on it at 7 AM both w/e days. worse even is you will find few parties of 3 (who will say to you the dreaded words "we'll be fast"). much better to sleep in and drinka few gallons of coffee and head up a...

i would go to the Penny Lane area, or burgers and fries. By mid-aft you miught even be able to run over to the Apron. By the time you get here we may have seen upwards of 250mm of rain within the last 5-7 days. highly doubtful considering its around 160mm now Depends on if rain ends over night tuesd...

yes the route is done, it is eight pitches of 5.11 climbing up to 11c. Steep and over hanging corners would describe it well, gear to six. Unfortunately the route is all corners and is slow to dry, looks like it is over for this year. We will post topos as soon as they are ready. Jred-- congrats, t...

Ed Spat-- Celebration of Life Oct 26th.

Ed Spat, longtime Lower-Mainland-area climber and physiotherapist, died in August of lung cancer. There will be a celebration of his life on the 26th of October.

If you knew Ed, climbed with him, etc etc, and you want to attend, please PM me.

Can we just stop with all these F%$#$&^ contrived rules, climb the reaper if there are some bolts to close, ask who ever to remove them. Squamish is turning into a nanny state. Ha! Well put, Mace. Ashley-- lots of good info here. Don't let the runouts etc scare you. Big whips on lead on slab are fi...

You could just chop most of the bolts at Forgotten Wall. Everything under 5.11 there goes safely on gear... Seeing how the majority of routes on Forgotten Wall are graded 5.11 and higher, I find this statement ridiculous. yeah, the mahority are 11s and up but there are if memory serves five ...

Wanted: physio recomendation

Can anybody point me toward a physiotherapist with experience with climbing, who works in Vancouver? I'm asking because... ...today I called Marpole Physio, to ask if I could get an appointment with Ed Spatt, a longtime climber and the last physio I saw (2 years ago). I was shocked to hear that Ed h...

The future of free route development is currently in question because of certain poo poo pants (is that okay?). To assume that a route was developed with no regard for human safety and to print such assumptions on a public forum does the cause no good whatsoever. My reaction although far from flyin...

OOh jred throwing the gauntlet down to the Brits ;-) "Rotten c*ck sandwich" is one of those names like "Exploring Uranus" which IMHO is better in the bar than the guidebook. Anyway, awesome, good luck with the send...you could do an epic link up: your route to Caramba Terrace, and then 18 pitches of...

Hi Jred-- Awesome you (and others?) are working on a new line. As you know there have been some serious close calls within the last while, so I think it's really cool you are posting a sentry on the ground. You said you made some other safety arrangements too-- thanks for that, although I can't tell...

True. This is where Rock On is, and its attendant lines of parties. Bad move, esp. on a Sunday. A reminder to the trundlers... a) Good on you for making a new long route! Squamish needs these and applauds you. b) Please follow best practices. These include -- cordon off the area underneath with flag...
