Re: Upper Apron Projects

Hey Anders: "Anyone actually thinking about relying on what I've done should first read a classic, witty disclaimer and waiver written by Bruce Bindner, a well-known California climber who died in a car accident two years ago. Re: Pic of the day!

Hi Lurch,

Thanks for all the great photos, especially of Exasperator - one of my all time faves. I haven't yet climbed Skywalker, although I'm hoping to get to it soon. Your photos help make the workday go by more pleasantly.

Re: Smoke Bluffs Park Top Ten Climbs
Back in the day and still on my sunny day list, these are my top 10 Bluff climbs, not in any specific order
For the under 5.10 climbs I give thumbs up to: Quarryman Laughing Crack Mosquito & Phlegmish Dance (one long pitch=great value) Gross Incompetence (scary for the grade...

Re: Fred Beckey and Climbing Mag. put Angel's Crest as his b

I love Angel's Crest, especially the great variation pitch, up high (just above the last Acrophobe tower). This pitch needs more traffic: instead of fighting the tree to get on the 5.7 crack that leads to the whaleback, walk a very short distance to the right (10 or 15 meters, max) and climb up the ...

Re: Smoke Bluffs CABIN BOYS OFFICE is officially open.

Hi John,

Nice job with this crag. We met you there yesterday and climbed the left-most four climbs. Very enjoyable climbing. I hope CBO gets lots of visits.

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)

Hi Folks, I'm a local climber (if you count East Van as local) and have been climbing happily in Squamish since 1990. Now I also bring my two young kids to climb and hike in Squamish. I'm opposed to the new Gondola proposal for a variety of reasons, and have written to several levels of government t...

Angel's crest variations
About 8 yrs ago I was doing that 5.10 crack on the 10th pitch variation with Don Serl and happened to look over to the side and saw a weasel eating a bird on a ledge out to the side.
Cool. One of the things I like about AC is the alpine feel of the route. (Especially when you get on i...

Bolted start to Angel's Crack - and other variations

Hi Dru, Harihari and Hans: Thanks for the replies and info. The hand crack I'm talking about is a variation of the 10th pitch (if you count all pitches, i.e. angel's crack = pitch 3) - but the easiest way to identify it is that it is on the sandy/gravelly ledge above ALL acrophobe towers and this is...

Angel's crest - new pitch at bottom & option to tree cra

"It is between the original start and the tree start." I just climbed Angel's Crest on June 19, 2010 and did not notice this alternate start. By "original" start, do you mean the vague corner with bushes and trees that you take to the ledge (exiting climber's right) to the tree (where the piton is)?...

Against Bugaboo proposals

Hello All, First of all, thank you very much to Jeremy for bringing these issues to the attention of the climbing community. I've visited the bugs 6 or 7 times in high season (last time was late July, 2004) and never found it to be too crowded. I've been up (and down!) the Snowpatch-Bugaboo Col in g...
