Re: High Cliff freshly scrubbed

Thanks for the clean up. My friend and I climbed "The Gift" yesterday and it was really fun and clean. A very nice moderate - felt stiff for 5.6 :)

Re: Harvey - Pup Buttress

Just climbed the Pup a couple of days ago. There is a pin on the first pitch (in good shape, too) - but you cannot see it from the ground (or at least, I couldn't). It is in the "obvious" horizontal break that you traverse to the first belay and I happily clipped it. We encountered lots of poor qual...

Re: Easy 5.10?

Hi, Are you looking for gear leads or sport? For gear, I find Split Decision at Shannon Falls, a soft 5.10A (and so is EPB, if you don't mind the lineups involved with pitches 1 & 2 of Skywalker). Out to Lunge (bluffs), Flying Circus (bluffs) and Fist (Murrin) also come to mind as being soft for the...

Re: lower apron - next to "Rambles"

Hey Folks: As I climbed Rambles a couple of days ago, I noticed that the new climb that is just a couple of metres south of it had many bolts, stations and two fixed lines (one red hanging from a large tree, another blue hanging from the final station) hanging on it. It sort of looks ready to go...b...

Thanks for the topo, Chris.

FYI, Sydney is still cranking. And scoping new lines.

Re: New route at Crag X

Hey Kris & climbers: Thanks very much for unearthing and equipping Hot Wax. We climbed this yesterday and enjoyed it greatly. It is a very nice, sustained for the grade of 5.7, well protected and L O N G route. The mid way rappel anchor makes it very easy to descend quickly and safely. Note to other...

Re: Mank Patrol

Relish Route on the AMO wall at Shannon Falls has a missing hanger on 7th bolt of first pitch (past the intermediate anchor). The bolt is there, but no hanger/nut. Otherwise, very nice route. There is now a fourth pitch (very low fith class - 4 bolts plus bolted anchor) that leads close to the top o...

Re: Copper Cove mystery climbs

Hey Climbers: Went climbing at Copper Cove after work yesterday. Beautiful day. My friend and I were the only folks there and we climbed The Dark Vein and Gleefully Grabbing Granite before the tides came up. I noticed that climbs are getting scruffy and could use more traffic. This is a great spot w...

Re: jungle warfare anchors

I thought the Great Drain was harder over all, but more satisfying, too. Jungle Warfare is really a one pitch (almost a one move) wonder, whereas the Great Drain has several challenging and thought-provoking pitches.

Re: Cypress new climbs.

Update to last post: Creek level is now (just barely) low enough for climbing at the Tombstone. On 8/12/16 climbed Undertaker - after exiting roof, there is an "X" marked in chalk on left side of crack (and this is marked in red on the photo). That is a loose block that should be removed with a crow...

Re: New Crag ``The Courtyard

Yesterday, between raindrops, Steve and I climbed a few of the easier lines here (Mr. Tree, Cyanide & Almonds, Slab Your Face). Developers are right: wear helmets (belayers and leaders) as there are still lots of bits breaking off. The texture of this stone is very grippy. The starts all seemed hard...
