Re: Cypress new climbs.

This is where most of the perma draws come from. If the Mallions are rusted shut you can hacksaw them off pretty easily. I switched out the old nylon draws on Cut to the chase a few years back and had to cut most of them off. I suppose a cordless grinder would work too but with all that water i'd be...

wailing and whining forum

I've been a member of this forum since it was first started (04). During that time I have seen caustic posts and moderate flame wars but over all people were here because they all shared the common ground of climbing. I've noticed a large increase of BS posting this year in particular on route devel...

Re: Loose nuts on Boiler Room.

A cheapo adjustable wrench that goes up to 3/4" will cover all of this perfectly. You could even include a wee bottle of non-permanent blue loctite with your new snug-a-bolt crag-care kit. I have just such a kit. It also contains a couple of hangers and 9/16" nuts Basic sport climbing necessity the...

Re: Beginner's "What gears to get" question

Thanks guys! Yeah I actually have some experiences but I do agree with what you guys said. I should probably get more experiences with a guide first then I'd worry about what to get. More and specific training is the best path for sure. I took a day course on sport climbing outside and a full two d...

Re: Some scary moments on Calculus Crack with a happy ending

Still though, why is talking about it a big deal to some people? On Supertopo, there is virtually always something on Honnold on the front page about the last big thing he did, or what he's setting up to do next. Check out his Facebook page; all comments about how amazing he is, how big his balls a...

Re: Tick marks

Personally I like to use coloured chalk (the stuff used on blackboards) on trad routes. I colour match for cam and stopper placement. Then for hand and foot ticks I use the white ones but make sure I put (LF) (RH) respectively.
