Re: loose rock on skywalker

Is the loose rock still there?

I would take care of it myself but I won't be back this summer. I became a dad last week and I have my hands full with a little one that inherited my attitude ;)

If anyone is up for removing the loose rock, I would be thankful.

Re: Escape Velocity, 5.9, Mt. Habrich

Last week, some friends and I improved the final bit of the trail to the col (base of the route). The trail is in good shape now. Plenty of parties out on the climb (4 on a weekday).

Doug, access is via the gondola. The gondola owners improved the Shannon Creek FSR approach trail.

Let's hear from people who actually climbed Escape Velocity. What did you think of the route?

Re: Escape Velocity, 5.9, Mt. Habrich

Access Update. (Just back from the Peg) The best access from the gondola is via Shannon Creek and the steep slog directly to the base. It takes about 2 hours. The trail up Shannon Creek has been brushed out and is downright pleasant to walk. The steep trail up is improving. Yesterday, Matt Parker an...

Re: Ultraviolet Cliff, Gondola Top Station

The road was 2WD earlier in the summer. With heavy usage, it deteriorated to 4WD conditions by mid-August.

Kids Zone: Call to Diggers

Last year, I began developing a small, child friendly crag called "Kids Zone" at the far right side of Neat and Cool (wrapping around to the south face). My career took priority over finishing it. This is a call to anyone out there who wants to invest a small amount of time and effort to create what...

Re: Slesse - Glacier Conditions

I snapped this iphone image of Slesse and the ByPass Glacier from 30,000' en route to Winnipeg. Looks like excellent conditions to me. All systems go for a September ascent. What a striking line!

Ultraviolet Cliff, Gondola Top Station

Ultraviolet Cliff (formerly "White Rock") hosts 16 routes ranging from 5.9 to 5.real-hard. The crag is a stroller-friendly 200m walk east of the gondola top-out along the road. Selling points: - Short approach once the gondola is in - A true south face to gather up sun rays - Steepness: all climbs ...

Escape Velocity, 5.9, Mt. Habrich

Escape Velocity , 5.9, 7p on the NW Face of Mt. Habrich Download Topo (grades unconfirmed) The route climbs 7 pitches directly to the summit of Habrich. Aesthetic, positive climbing on good quality stone. While the route does involve a little easy walking up heather slopes, no bush is involved in t...

Re: BCAS‬ reports a climber has fallen from the Chief

Super sad... Just to toss out another tidbit that may be relevant. The top of the Upper Black Dyke is directly above the area where she apparently landed. Descending from the first summit, it's really easy to wander over there if you miss a left turn. That said, basic care (even for hikers) keeps th...

Re: Sunset Strip horror show

Frimer here, just back in town from Winnipeg for the summer. I feel ecstatic to learn of all the amazing new routing and retroing that took place in my absence. Dig Club is alive and well. Here's a shout-out to all of the members of the Club! I loudly applaud the work that Colin did for the climbing...
