Re: Sacrilege - Chekamus

I agree with you guys in that Chek has a total gym mentality. It has for the last 15+ years and the reality is that it's not going to change like it or not. People are not going to wear helmets, and they are going to continue to lounge around at the base of the wall. I think the best bet would be to...

Re: Sacrilege - Chekamus

Gorby, it's a sport climbing crag. There can be over 20 people below on a busy day. The route itself is totally out of place for the area. The problem is also that most people are unaware that there are people above them as the route starts around the corner and are out of sight during the entire cl...

Sacrilege - Chekamus

Hey everyone, just wanted to express some concern regarding this route at chek which runs directly above the Circus wall. Anyone familiar with the area and this route in particular must know that this thing is an accident waiting to happen. I can't count the number of times I've had fist sized rocks...

Fitness World

I was wondering if anyone has been on Fitness world lately at Rouge's? I was on it for the first time a few weeks ago and I notice a part of the rock that looks as though a hold had broken off recently up in the crux. I'm wondering if this is the case or if the route is just that damn hard. Cheers

I'm not saying grades in general aren't useful. I'm just saying that arguing over one letter grade is a waste of breath.

I mean two grades in general, not just 11c/d and 11d/12a. Perhaps you could outline the objective method you use to identify these grades and how it is grades are consistent for who is climbing it. A reachy 12b for me may feel like a 11d for someone a foot taller. There is really no standard that ca...

Can you really tell the difference between an 11c and an 11d, or an 11d and a 12a, ect. I sure as hell can't. I agree that grades are completely subjective. I could tell you how hard I think something is for me from 1 to 10. 1 being I could do it in my street shoes, 10 being at the limit of my physi...

Silent Menace

Anyone know details about what happened to the starting flake of silent menace? I'm guessing someone did the jump start and tore it off. Is the climber/belayer ok? That was a HUGE piece that came off. No too sure if the route is all that possible to do now without aiding the start.
