2wd after the gate to the boulders is a bit of a stretch...I have a 4" lift on my 2 dr explorer and there was no scraping at all. so when did you just do it Chris ? I am planning to be back up there this weekend and was hoping the bypass still existed? cheers Right, thanks. I should have posted tha...

How about a small 2WD (rental) car? There is no way you would get past the gate in a 2wd car. I just did it in a stock f-150, and significant scraping occured. I heard of an Xterra that did it without too many problems - shorter wheelbase. But high clearance is a must. The first problem is a large ...

Offering from another perspective, as a relative new climber (2yrs). I'm actually not that slow, but I know there are people way faster than me. If I'm on a climb and there is a party below me, it makes me a bit nervous because I know I have to hurry up. When I hurry, I know that I might make mistak...

True enough and we would probably have done so, but we were at the end of the line, waiting at the very first set of bolts and the fellow just walked right past us up the easy slab. We watched him 'sneak up' on two parties. Had I been one of the climbers or belayers I certainly would have told him t...

I agree that name calling is not productive. I realized that shortly after posting the rant, and unfortunately cannot edit my post. Certainly I am not threatening this individual, however I would like to discuss it with him, as I suspect he has no idea how he affected these climbers. I met up with t...

Soloist on Diedre
About 11:am on Sunday, a soloist passed numerous parties on Diedre. Given that Diedre is the most popular route on the Apron, especially on a nice summer weekend, I think this guy needs to give his head a shake. He would walk right up to whoever was leading a pitch, and stand there literally right b...

Local for weekday evening climbing
Hi, I'm new to this board, and am looking for someone local who wants to do some midweek evening multipitch stuff on the Apron. I've been climbing 2 years, leading about 5.8. Getting ready to ramp up to the next grade. Have my own rack and rope. Looking for someone with similar or better abilities. ...
