Loose bolt on Burning Down the Couch - Pet Wall

Hey if anyone out there with a drill and has the time to replace a 12mm size bolt on Burning Down the Couch that would be great, as I don't get up to Murin that often. Its the bolt at the crux and it is hanging about a third out. its pretty sketchy. I always use 3/8" bolts so I don't have the right ...

Re: New Area - Porteau

hey thanks for the update. Those routes have not been climbed in a couple years and I re-climbed A-Team yesterday and feel the same as Dakine. I intended Mr T and Solid Gold to be sticked clipped. So yeah best to do that. I think with some more traffic the routes will clean up better. It is hard to ...

Re: New Area - Porteau

quick update... 1. 'I Wanna Be Adored' can be climbed to the left and then back right between rthe 7th and 8th bolt, thereby avoiding the hard move (harder if you are tall as you need to get your feet high on underclings). It is a bit easier at 11b instead of 11c 2. 'The Rustler' is now 11c after a ...

Re: New Area - Porteau

will gets some photos once i stop climbing or cleaning. I added a bolt to 'I Wanna Be Adored' which makes the variation 'The Poser' - cut left after the 7th bolt instead of the 6th and then climb into 'Charlie Don't Talk'. Probably 10+. 'Power Play' which is left of 'Hold the Line' is open now and g...

It can also be downloaded at http://www.quickdrawpublications.com/Free%20Downloads.html to download as well. So far this year we have added 4 new route...

Re: New Area - Porteau

Hi Glad to see some chalk on the routes. I took most of last summer off to climb... but with some more help this year I hope to get more routes done and open. So if you see a white Subaru parked on the side of the highway about 600 meters before the Porteau Rd/ Deeks Lake Trailhead parking lot exit,...

New Area - Porteau

Hi Everyone. I've been busy the last couple of summers and with some help from others, started a new climbing area. The area is just south of the Porteau Rd exit on highway 99. If you are familiar with Deek's Lake trail parking lot you will know where to park already. The 2 crags are located 500m ba...

Re: New Routes Right of Zoe, Murrin Park.

I really try not to get involved in this kind if debate, but will say this. Murin has always been a mixed bag when it comes to establishing routes, sport, trad or mixed. A route was always done in the style of the developer. If you sport climbed you'd most likely put in bolts, etc. Whats most import...

Re: Sullys projects

Routes should not be graded on their onsite but on the hardest move and then how sustained it is. Most of the routes at Sully's are graded on the hardest move since most are not sustained. With respect to any hard move, it will always feel different each of us. If a route is more then a letter grade...

Re: new routes at Fern Hill?

The additions look great. Once that wall gets some more traffic and projects sent, it will definitely make Fern Hill a regular stomping ground for alot of climbers. Great work Peter and All. I tried the 12- and 11- minus routes at the left end and thought the 12- was 12a/b. Crux undercling was prett...

I'd agree with harihari as I have spent considerable time looking and developing crags and sometimes it been a waste. either the cliff is too far to hike to, or not enough routes have regular traffic. Also, parking is a big issue along highway 99, unless parking is sufficient, it might be more work ...

Anchors... im in the process of slowly replacing the rings on some routes due thier popularity. I have currently added chains w/ a carabiner to My One Muscle for easier cleaning. Remember that these biners are for lower off and not top ropping. Please use a set of draws or any other type of rigging....

Hey fyi I was working on a new route to the right of The Rookie, I managed to get both The Rookie and A Bunch of BS dirty. Then it rained... the 2 routes are dirty at the moment and caution is advised unless you don't mind brushing off the holds as you go... will re-clean them next time im up. btw, ...

I tried Hindu Two Routes again and yes it is harder then I remember, probably 11c/d, committing as well  part of the problem is you get used to an area and the routes start to feel easy, you get them dialed anthonie, what did you think the easier version of this routes goes at, is 10d a bit o...
