Getting rid of you home climbing wall?

I'm putting up a little climbing wall at home here in Squamish. Before doing so, It was suggested that I query the local community for materials (plywood with t-nuts, old holds, etc.) as some of you may have old walls you're no longer using. Please email or text me and turn your old wall into cold h...

Re: the Nose. Thanks. Will check it out. Found Solar System to be very loose and approaching an R rating, given the lack of good gear placements on most of the pitches. Lots of psychological 'pro' though.

Re: Escape Velocity, 5.9, Mt. Habrich

Climbed it yesterday (July 29) and is in great condition. Easy fun intro to some Alpine near the big city. All station's bolted. Short pitches, so keep an eye out for the stations. All good. Nothing bad to say about it. Great route for beginners or for taking out your less experienced buddies and/or...

Hiking vs Gondola to reach Habrich routes, etc.

Weighing the time/energy/cost pros and cons of hiking the sea-to-summit trail versus taking the gondola, in order to do some climbing on Habrich and other areas. Can anyone provide feedback on: 1) How long (from the Chief) the sea-to-summit (top of Gondola) trail takes (time) for a reasonably fit cl...

Let's say I wanted to put a gym in my garage...

Let's say I happen to be in possession of a good-sized residential garage in Squamish that I'd like to outfit into a little training wall (bouldering, traversing, etc.) for myself. And that I could build it myself and that would be fun but I literally don't have the time, is there someone(s) in town...

Looking for Trad partners - All times

Just moved to Squamish and have a flexible schedule so I can climb some weekdays, all weekends, and pretty much every day after 2pm. Experienced, safe, trad climber. Have all the gear. Haven't climbed all year, and am starting back on moderates (5.7-5.10). Love long multipitch, but enjoy good craggi...

Squamish-based Physiotherapist Recommendations?

Have a partially torn rotator cuff and related bursitis that I've finally recognized is simply not going to go away on its own. Can anyone recommend a local physiotherapist? Maybe one who appreciates the rigors of climbing. Thanks in advance. Feel free to PM me if more appropriate.

Any updates on the proposed Squamish Climbing Gym?

I've been trying to follow this, but haven't heard anything recently. Couple posts came up this year: UPDATE 2: Found a Facebook page for the development. It actually looks like it's happening. "Ground Up Climbing Centre" and apparently they've signed a wall partner. Details here. Well, that's excit...

Re: Moderate Trad - Sept 5-13

Dang, the Dutch girl got a response. Do I have to be a girl? Not sure if I'll have time to get the procedure done, but I'll look into it ;)

Note: I'd pick a Dutch girl over me any day. Felt I should make that clear.
