I spent a time in Phalaborwa, South Africa from July to August. The midday temps were similar but Phalaborwa was slightly cooler at night. A lot of the multipitch climbs on the chief are in the shade until noon-2pm and there are a lot of crags in the shade. While it doesn't often rain in August, you...

I think public shaming is a great way to call out poor behaviour. At least you are doing something about it and spreading awareness.

As a small community, self-enforcement is one of the ways to keep people in check.

I mean no disrespect to anyone here, but a loose or missing hanger, or a worn quicklink are the responsibility of all climbers. Murrin - Commonwealth - It’s Not Easy Being Green – 5.10a

One of the anchor bolt nuts came off when I was up top setting up a rap. Saved the nut but the washer fell down the crag. I hand tightened the nut back on the bolt and put climbing tape around it with the note "Nut loose/no use"
