Re: Sunblessed vandalism

The mayor has given his blesssing!
Interesting the chain placer has stayed quiet? Maybe they ran out of money adding chain to every 10ft run out in Squamish and couldn't afford their internet bill?

Re: New Crag "starvation" with main route "The Revenant" 5.1

Hi David, I climbed at your new crag. With all due respect to the effort, time and cost required in developing a new area and not wishing to offend may I suggest you finish the area before releasing topos. With the amount of remaining loose blocks ranging from chips to chest size, some of which i pu...

New Route - The Minotaur at Rogues

New line at Rogues Gallery. "The Minotaur" 5.13c?..maybe rogues hardest route? Route is located in the gulley left of Serendipity, look for the overhanging arete. A tension boulder problem guards the hands free picnic spot before launching into the 2nd crux with an amazing finish. 10 draws, 25m. Tha...

Re: Lowering off chains

The only time you should never rap is if the anchor is on an Alpine BK route. In some countries this game is called Russian roulette and ice is needed in your veins. and I bet BK has been taken off belay for taking partners into holy hell, old fashioned alpine sketch routes. 1) not putting any gear ...

Re: Lowering off chains

So help me out.... sometimes its ok to walk down and sometimes its ok to rap and sometimes its ok to lower? but it depends on the situation, equipment, location etc

and I need to apply my own judgement and make decisions for myself that if I get wrong I could die?

Think I'll go bouldering.

Re: New Delhi Cliff

Possibly the best new multi pitch in Squamish, sustained, exposed, all natural, overhung and amazingly clean!
Huge effort by the FA crew! Muchas gracias

Re: New Route at Forgotten Wall

Good to hear people are trying it. Glad you liked it. The consensus seems to be 12b/c. I placed the 5th bolt as high and left as I could so that if you fall at the sixth you miss the ledge (If your belayer is paying attention!) I tested this a few times to make sure and it's a clean fall. If you fal...

New Route at Forgotten Wall

New route at forgotten wall. 5.12d, "Moments of Magnetism" Sport, approx. 20m. Located to the right of Just Can't do It, left of the Reach-around. Two distinct cruxes with a hands free rest in-between and 5.11+ face climbing to finish. A technical and sequencial traverse on good holds solves the bla...

Re: great new 5.12+ at rogues gallery

Nice work Rob,
Dare I say it, maybe a candidate for a top 100 climb?

Perfectly clean, nice climbing on a steep sweeping wall with good holds.
12c seems fair.

Re: Fixed Binos on Waterfront Trail

Hi WWPierre, I can help you with this, here are a few options. 1) I will provide you the current poster free of charge for you to install, it will fade unless protected from UV 2) Have a look in the window of Valhalla Pure, they printed an extra large version on a type of metal. (It has not faded ov...

May I suggest pistols at dawn?

Re: dry tool on cacademon

I don't want to comment on their ethical reasons. They may choose to engage you online and answer your question, but I doubt it. I think if you developed a dry tooling crag somewhere else there would be little objection? I might be wrong, any other locals have an opinion on dry tool crag development...
