Re: Freeway rack?

Thanks for the replies. We didn't actually manage to check back here before getting on it. Basically, we opted for the "carry everything" approach and I was glad of having the larger sizes for Daylight Crack as we're both still quite poor at fist width cracks regardless of grade (my other half was u...

Freeway rack?

Can I ask what people would suggest I carry for Freeway (probably the express way finish)? The select guide suggests standard rack to 3.5" (which if I've read the start to the guide correctly would mean singles) + RPs. Elsewhere on the interweb, people have suggested up to triples of finger sized ge...

Your BD#5 for my #6?

This is a long shot I know but it turns out I need a double #5 for a route I want to do (not in Squamish).

Would anyone fancy swapping their #5 for a #6 in the new style of Camalot? Ours has been used once, and never fallen on.

Paul

ps - someone must have desires for Pipeline etc.

Re: Sunset Strip - A Perfect "5.10" Barometer

Oh yes, Cerberus... I think a friend is going to kill me if I leave Squamish without jumping on that. Well we did this today (I chose the planks) and thought it was probably one of the best lines we've done in Squamish over the past month. Lots of quality pitches linked together, great rock (its not...

Re: Sunset Strip - A Perfect "5.10" Barometer

Are the face pitches on this actually 'face' (i.e. basalt dyke) or friction? Apologies for having to be so anal about it, I'm just in a dilemma having destroyed my good shoes (which are sitll ok on friction) and having a pair of what seem like planks as the other alternative.

Re: Community Forum changes - What would you like to see?

I'm relatively new here and will likely disappear into the ether once its time to move on from Squamish (shortly) however I heavily use a UK based bouldering forum (one of the finest there is I might add). A few years ago it implemented a 'karma' system where you can give people +ve or -ve karma (yo...

That pitch you pulled the stump out of today looks immense!

Nice write up! Every time I look at this route it seems to be fairly busy, hopefully I'll get on it soon.

Re: Beware. "Gold Metal Ribbon" Missing Hanger

You're probably well aware of this but if you slide a nut up the wire and slip that on a stud it usually works pretty well once you've cinched the nut back up tight.

Found: Quickdraws on P3 of Grand Wall

If you were the second team above us who asked us to pick up your QDs from P3 today, we have them but went down when the shower struck (probably unnecessarily annoyingly enough). We're staying with a friend in Garibaldi heights so get in touch and we'll work out how to reunite you with your gear. Al...

Lost: Mobile Phone (HTC Wildfire/Buzz)

It seems I've misplaced my phone (HTC Wildfire/Buzz) yesterday (Fri 7/12). We've been staying in a pullout at the spit and went climbing to Slhanay and then the Apron but checked out all three venues last night and didn't manage to find it. It is in a Casemate hard case with a large red Mammut stick...

Thanks.

Re: Sunset Strip horror show

Would people recommend Sunset Strip over Millenium Falcon to someone who has a limited amount of time here and is thus only likely to get around to one of the two?
