The first time I climbed in Squamish I was blown away by the dogs off leash around the chief. Initially I didn't mind. I thought it was funny. But then I was bouldering with two people who were afraid of dogs and it seriously affected their day. Now I have no patience for them.

Thanks for the info you guys!

I am going to be around the bugs and I will check out Spillmacheen for sure.

Any other spots the guidebook is sold? I may not be through Golden for awhile.

No you're right about the Frank Slide info being in there. I think I was just a bit confused as to where I was in relation to crows nest pass and that area. It's possible (likely) that I will be without a car so I am either going to have to find some cool local stuff or make some climbing friends! H...

Sweet! Thanks! I've heard good things about crowsnest pass.

I was looking at the bouldering guide for the canadian rockies tonight but I didn't see anything. Perhaps it was first edition?

Kootenay Beta?

I am looking at spending the summer in the Kootenay region. I'm excited about the Bugaboos and some hiking but is there any bouldering that you guys know of? Any climbing info would be much appreciated. I think I will be centered around Elk Lake Provincial Park.

Thanks!

Banff Mountain Film Fest

Any of you guys catch this awesome event? I went last night and loved it. Although I was dissapointed in the climbing coverage. The only climbing film we had was First Ascent: Thailand. It was good but I wanted the sonnie trotter cobra crack film. Ah well. I will see it eventually. Anyway, who went ...

Climbing in Madagascar? I've never thought of that. I want to go someday for the wildlife, now for the climbing?

I too want to go somewhere for warm climbing this winter! I'm tentatively planning to bus/hitchhike/cycle through North and Central America and possibly South America as well from January to May. I will be in search of great bouldering, surfing and DWS opportunities! I am only in the first stages of...

Pemberton and Nairn Falls specifically

Alright, it turns out after much scoffing that I love Pemberton. The bouldering there has such great landings and has yet to be crowded while I was there. Add in friendly locals and I am hooked. My question is about the bouldering around the falls themselves. Are there many routes set? I've heard th...

I love the idea of deep water soloing. For right now I'm looking for something a bit less intense? A place where I can introduce a non climber to the joys of climbing with no risk of injury, just swimming bliss, upon landing. I've heard of a spot in North Van in a canyon, possibly along Lynn River, ...

Climbing over a safe, sweet water landing?

I have been lucky enough to find some cool routes on rock where if you biff you land in deep, clear, refreshing water. It is the best thing that I've experienced in climbing. I love the highballs that can be tackled and you win whether you make the move or if you miss. My experiences have mostly bee...

wanted: Crash pad and bike

Hey all, I'm looking for a second crash pad that's in reasonably good shape and affordable. Nothing too big is necessary but I hope the shoulder straps are still good or fixable. I'm also looking for a commuter bike to get around on. Reliable, cheap and adult sized are the criteria. Ideally it would...

Hey thanks for the info you guys!

I plan on leaving the car behind! Now I just have to figure out my living situation. I've checked the online paper but I imagine I will wait till I'm in town. I will be there just before June! I'm pumped as I have rarely climbed rock.

Thanks again you guys!
