Re: New Crag ``The Courtyard

We climbed a bunch of the routes at Playground and Courtyard yesterday. Playground is short and fun, and Beautifully Breasted is a really nice route, reasonable length with a series of thoughtful sections. I have some feedback on the grades: parental guidance isn't 11d, unless there is some very spe...

anybody in vancouver area want to throw away old rope?

I've a friend who could use a few hundred feet to wrap some logs to form a protective layer (long story, he can tell you).

If you have some on the way to the garbage (what can you do with rope to old to climb on, anyhow?), drop me an email: vieuxtech@gmail.com. Cheers.

Re: finding a house/condo to rent for a month?

Kids are 3 (both of them, they are twins), walking distance to some woods and streams would be nice, I expect to drive a bit, anywhere in squamish is probably fine.

finding a house/condo to rent for a month?

I'd like to spend a month, maybe july, aug, or sept, up in squamish with the wife and kids, and was hoping to find a 1 or 2 bedroom place, but the listings online I find are all pretty expensive vacation rental stuff, by the night or week. Any suggestions for where to look to rent a place for a mont...

Re: Sullys projects

I am about as close as you can get to a comprehensive expert in North Shore climbing access issues. Feel free to consult me. OK, what's the deal with the Senior's Centre? The routes there are suprisingly good (at least, I was surprised, I expected another Lighthouse Park), and its on public land. I...

Re: Cougar Crag?

Hey, is the wet weather over? I climbed at Cougar last year at about this time, and had a blast and want to go back, but don't want to get babysitting, and then discover I'm wading at the belay...

Has the river receeded a bit, yet?

anybody have 1 or 2 kids climbing harnesses to sell?

I'm posting this here in the hopes someone will have them lying in a closet from when their kids were small, and might want to pass the gear on to two aspiring climbers! I'm looking for two (I have twins), like the Apex Rock Apache: http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=8...

Re: Climb it - an iphone app - anybody heard of it

Came across this new Iphone App (climbitapp.com) It was released last week. Climb it. Find it. Tick it. - is the tag line. The app just covers Canadian climbing locations. Climbs from the North Shore to Whistler make up a large chunk of the 5300 routes on the app. I just downloaded it and will take...

Re: AMO Wall new routes and Seal Cove update

Thanks Ras. You may well be right regarding the grade. I felt it was solid 10, but not hard 10, when I first climbed it. However last time I did it I thought it seemed harder. Maybe some features came off or smoothed over. Did you try any of the other routes? Regarding that lone bolt. There was an ...

Re: AMO Wall new routes and Seal Cove update

I am very interested in hearing what people think of the grades on my new routes there. I'm not sure what ".10 =" means for Into the Mystic, but I thought the second pitch was at least 10+, based on not being able to do it... ! Also, not sure what that one stray bolt up left of the route is ...

Anybody have names and grades for the new routes?

There's a number up off the pitch 3 ledge, and looks like 2 new anchors, with 3 (?) route variations to them to the right of the where pitch 1 starts.

I tried to get to the left-most of the new anchors, but bailed. 11- slab, perhaps?
