Lost: Alpine draw on Slesse

If you've happened to have found an alpine draw with Astro carabiners, or a DMM Shadow locking carabiner on Slesse I would gladly trade beer or a beverage or pastry of your choice for their return. The gear will have blue sparkly nail polish on it. Please email me at "bertin _ w at hotmail dot com" ...

Re: Chilly batteries

Oops, my mistake, I did mean lithium and not lithium-ion! One thing to keep in mind when comparing cost is that a lithium battery will last a good deal longer than an alkaline. How much longer is unfortunately variable, depending on things like operating temperature and discharge rate. Lithiums are ...

Lithium ions are generally the recommended battery for cold weather use. They can be pretty expensive though. Good luck!

Re: Where are people climbing this weekend?

Looking for Midweek Climbing Partners

Hey everyone, it turns out i'm pretty free this summer, and I'm looking for someone to climb with during the weekdays. My current objectives are any of the 5.10 lines at the base of the Chief such as Exasperator, Arrowroot, Apron Strings, etc. I'd also be down for sport climbing where I generally on...

Re: Worn Fixed Gear

Nice link. Mammut seems most worried about wear on the draw on the first bolt. I wonder if it makes more sense then, instead of having a blanket ban on permadraws, to have climbers use one of their own draws on the first bolt, and leave the rest fixed. In any case, I think it's worth mentioning that...
