Re: Stawamus River climbers camp mess

Two of us showed up today, and it is looking very clean. Only problem is neither of us had a truck. There is less than one truckload of garbage still by the road, so if anyone has a pick-up it would be great if you could haul it to the dump/transfer station. The tipi has been left standing. Apparent...

Awesome pictures. "Knucklehead" looks like he'd put you in a world of hurt if you looked at him the wrong way.

Re: Rapping Down to Broadway Mud Swamp

Ouch, called out as a pansy for being bummed about having your rope wet on a fine summer day, smelling like piss taboot? That's a bit harsh. I sympathise with crazymonkey and his wet smelly August rope. Said swamp has been temporarily sorted. Ropes should be happy here. http://i1049.photobucket.com/...

Re: Rapping Down to Broadway Mud Swamp

We barely missed getting our rope in that swamp coming down from Rock On this past Sunday. We threw a few more rotten branches over it, not that it helps much.

What about just covering the swap with small cedar branches? All one would need to haul up are some pruning shears.

Re: Rapping into south gully from the apron

This is good to know. Thanks for posting. We climbed this yesterday evening and finished off just at sunset. While on the second to last pitch it really felt like it was about to start raining, and I was wondering what the best way to bail would be with out leaving too much gear behind. The direct s...

We stopped by and checked it out yesterday. Beautiful rock. Nice work you two on a crag that is certain to see a lot of traffic.

Thanks again!

Re: Recommended approach to Star Chek

Helmet, definitely a good idea. Just climbed it the first time today after work. What a neat place. Somewhere in the middle (5.7 pitch?) the first and second bolts are probably about 20 ft apart. Just before reaching the second bolt, I heard something hum passed my head. I turned to see a sharp base...

Thanks again guys. We would have gotten by without it, but it was definitely nice to have it for Boomstick. It was a really fun day out with nice cool weather.
