Yak Pk Conditions

Not a strictly Squamish question per se, but wondering if anyone has been up Yak Peak this year. With the great weather we have been having is the face dry or wet? Thinking of heading up Yak Check this weekend. Will I be post-holing or skating on the way down ? Don’t really want to bring boots and c...

Lost Helmet at Boulder Gulley Sunday Jul 23

As the title says, I left a blue helmet at Boulder Gulley on Sunday July 23. Was climbing there from 12:00 to about 3:30pm.

If you find it, please PM me.

Sky Pilot - Ascent time from Gondola and Conditions

I am planning to climb Sky Pilot this week. The Matt Gunn scrambling guide suggests 6.5 to 8 hours for a "Fit, focused party" via Shannon Creek FSR. How much time does the gondola approach actually take off? The gondola operator gives the Sky Pilot Valley Trail 2-3 hour return. Gunn gives 2 hours fr...

Looking for regular partner for cragging,multi-pitch,alpine

Hi I am looking for a regular partner (ideally). I recently got laid off from my job and have decided to take the summer off and climb as much as possible. I have been climbing in Squamish for about 15 years plus regular road trips have taken me to great spots like Smith, Red Rock, J-Tree, Bugaboos ...

Re: Squamish Deep Water Soloing?

Looks good. But the Chekamus river can run pretty swiftly and is probably a$% cold. Be careful out there. From the article: "Located just downstream of the Rogue’s Gallery climbing area off Highway 99. Park at Rogue’s and walk 10 minutes south—turn on a dirt road (foot traffic only) that drops down ...

Thanks for the suggestion Marc. Definately will put this on my "avoid the crowds" tick list. How long from the parking to the base of the wall do you figure?

Angels Crest Partner

I'm looking for a partner to get on Angels Crest (12.p, 5.10+). I am fit and fairly solid at leading at 5.10-, but 5.10+ is a bit of a stretch for me, so I might try to talk you into leading the crux pitch depending on how I am feeling that day. Hence looking for someone who is a solid 5.10+ leader....

Re: Where are people climbing this weekend?

I'm heading over to the Harrison Bluffs for the first time. Does anyone know where I can find topos? Ya you email the guy who is aid climbing diedre, ask about nicolumn knob as well, but its going to be hot up that way this weekend. He lives out that way and does sporadic cleaning and climbing This...

West Ridge...was tons of fun, but a long slog in and out for this flabby, office-softened weekend warrior. Camping at Colchuck Lake was beautiful too.

I'm climbing Prusik Peak this weekend. First time in the Enchantments, so pretty stoked. And one less climber in Squamish for you all.

Re: TR A Great Day at the Crags with my Kids

Went back to this crag a few weekends ago. Also popped into Climb On for some beta and to look for climbing shoes for my youngster. Found a great deal in their consignment section - like-new Sportivas for $30!!! Woot Woot! Now he is stoked with his first pair of real climbing shoes.

Re: TR A Great Day at the Crags with my Kids

I went to 2nd Avenue on Saturday and it is indeed a good area for kids with lots of moderate climbing and bolted anchors. I took a photo of the topos - not too meaningful unless you are standing in front of the crag, but gives you an idea of what is there. The climb up the dyke is particularly aesth...

Topo for Second Avenue?

Was thinking I would take a few youngsters up there this weekend. Any topo available for this?

Ditto for Respirartion Rock...i understand some work has been done there recently?

Many thanks to the cleaners and route setters, i'm looking forward to getting on some of these.
