Squamish Access Society AGM

Hello Everyone, Is there a pressing issue you want us to address or an area you think the Squamish Access Society should advocate for in 2016? Maybe a trail or area that could use some attention? The Squamish Access Society is holding it's AGM at the Ground up Climbing Center Sunday, January 31st- 7...

lost jacket on bellygood trail June 25

Hi, I've lost a small jacket somewhere on the bellygood descent trail. We were hiking off off MilkRun and my pack opened up and jacket fell out somewhere before joining into the backside trail. The jacket was folded up into a small square. I hiked up there this morning and didn't see it, wondering i...

Re: Movin' to Montana cleaned up and ready for action

Nice work Kris,
Returned to the scene of the crime today and this route is in fine shape, clean and nice new bolts. There is a little seepage on pitch 3, but it is easily avoided.
Just as exciting as I remembered.
Thanks again for the hard work.

Re: Bouldering in Squamish (July-August)

Hi, July/Aug is a good time to visit. As you said, generally driest!! Rarely does it get very humid here. Yes it can get warm (for a Canadian), mid to high 20's (celsius) is the norm for that time, but many of the boulders are in the forest and therefore shaded. Plan on morning starts and I'm sure y...

Re: new area at Murrin past Quercus

Hey, Big old loose block at the top of Wavey Gravey (I think this is the name. It's the 3 bolt .10d that ends at the mid wall anchor). The block is right after the last bolt and an obvious grab. It's big, wobbles and completly serperated all the way around. Anyone know if Peder reads these things, m...

Re: Movin' to Montana cleaned up and ready for action

Oh Man, thanks for putting in the work to clean up this route....I think? I did this route years ago and remember it being very adventurous and exciting (read scary), definitely at my limit at the time. I was so happy it was done so I wouldn't have to climb it again, but now you've got me thinking.....

Cleaning/Rock Scaling B/T Quercus/Woodstock

Hey Folks, Heads up, this winter there will be cleaning and rock scaling happening periodically in the gully between Quercus and Woodstock. Please be aware and respect any signs you see for Rock Scaling. I'll will remove signs anytime I'm not working in there, but please still be careful, lots of lo...

Re: new area at Murrin past Quercus

Hey All, Posting this here because of description on how to find Woodstock on an earlier post. There will be lots of cleaning and rock scaling happening this winter in the gully between Quercus and Woodstock. The best way to get to Woodstock is not down from Quercus, and throughout the winter I'll b...

Re: Visiting Squamish...info?

Hi Doug, Lots of great places to climb with short approaches. I would say your best best for a first intro to Squamish would be to check out the "Smoke Bluffs". Tons of single pitch climbs in your grade range that you could lead or, in most cases, make for an easy top rope set up. Approaches in the ...

Re: Climbing in May

Squamish climbing in May can be a bit of gamble. There are years when we get a decent amount of sun and good weather days, there are other years when it can rain for much of the month. The other issue is many of the routes have areas of dampness and seepage that often doesn't dry out until later in ...

Re: New Routes at Up Among the Firs

Thanks for the feedback Chris. I'm terrible with grades, so for others please take them only a rough starting place until more of a consensus has been found. Happy to hear you enjoyed the climbs.

cheers
