Re: New take on an old route at Shannon Falls

I did this route today without any idea what it was. enjoyed the route immensely. loved the old aid bolt. added an element of psychological protection. but, there is bomber gear not that far away, similar scene to the end of crime. A real treat to stumble upon. thanks!

Re: Rack advice please

one 6om rope is fine. if you need to bail- there's usually fixed gear somewhere in range. saying that, a 70m is preferable. a set and half of wires is good. double set of cams though, for sure. get some small ones, below finger size. one #3 camalot, one3.5 and a 4 also. leave the hexes at home. you ...

Re: A Guide to Sandbagging Newbies and Sportclimbers

why delete this car crash entertainment? i salute the author for his confounding naivete/runaway ego/unchecked spray/garrulous stumbling, occasionally pocketing a pretty funny line. and let's face it , it keeps us tabloid chewing on something rather than nothing. and it increases traffic on this tir...

Re: what's the climbing like in nelson, BC?

nelson's not bad as a climber. various spots are close to to town. nothing mind blowing. castlegar has the waterline which is a pretty good crag and there's action up arrow lakes- lots of new route potential. some bouldering here and there. small but active climbing scene, i think. check here- https...

Elitist climber writes article of self congratulation.

against my better judgement, i'm posting a rejected article i wrote about putting up new routes in squamish. those who still retain an internet attention span longer than a twitter feed may be entertained for a few minutes. you could bring your device into the latrine with you, but unlike barley's (...

hi slinky. thanks for your useful comments. you sound like a level headed guy. i'll be sure to keep my mouth shut next time. i do apoligise for arousing such bristling vehemence with my opinion. i would address your eloquent points, but you're making so many assumptive accusations that i'd just rath...

Re: new area at Murrin past Quercus

nice routes on great rock, stripped of their personality by ridiculous over bolting. is this some sort of baby booming harley ride on a sunday afternoon? it seems that the precedent has been set to go ahead and say f**k it to bomber gear placements, easily set off good stances and drill bolt after b...

another 5.13 Top Shelf new route.

hello internet. 'Steel' Neil 'Ding Dong' Dyer has vacuumed up an old project at the ever pleasing Top Shelf: DEAF CLUTCH 5.13c/d. 20metres 7 bolts. FA: Neil Dyer July 2014 This is the considerably overhanging and impressive line on the leaning wall, left of a wide corner, between '59' and 'The Drang...
