It's still summer so go try THIS new 5.11 Top Shelf Route
Action Pants, 5.11c, 4 bolts plus gear to #1 Camalot, 25m FA Mike Teschke Located at Top Shelf to the right of 59er and to the left of Deaf Clutch... you could say that it's between those two routes. There is an extra 15m 5.8 crack top out with an anchor at the top, the rope drag is pretty bad tryin...

Re: Logging planned above Squaw/ Olson creek
I sent an email to the address that Bruce posted, and as a little proof that someone actually reads concerned emails that you send... copied below is a response that i received from the BCTF: "Dear Mike Teschke: Thank you for your email of June 18, 2014, regarding BC Timber Sales (BCTS) Proposed Dev...

Re: Smoke Bluffs got a haircut
I'm pretty sure it's all BCHydro, they've done some work around the Chief/Apron Boulders too, and other right of ways throughout Squamish.

Re: New 6 pitch sport climb - Centurion
My climbing partner Simon and I thought that this would be maybe a little more dry than something around Squamish... gambling that the early morning shower maybe didn't fall in the Chek area. We got to Chek and started hiking at 8am, it took 55 minutes to get to the base of the climb and we were tho...

Re: Fluffy Kitten Wall... C'mon People!!!!
Brief Trip Report, and road update. A note that the road to Fluffy Kitten is in good shape, but it is not the same road as the Gondola/Habrich road. You start up the same road from the Mamquam main, cross the first bridge over the Stawamus River... there is a switchback and steep fairly loose sectio...

Re: Fluffy Kitten Wall... C'mon People!!!!
I've heard conflicting reviews of the road condition. How 2wd is it? Would you say you could easily get say a Honda Civic up there without spinning the tires? Or do you mean 2wd with some decent ground clearance?

Re: Sunset Strip horror show
I'd say Sunset Strip is a little bit better. Or at least I liked it better, but maybe because it's new. It has a little more crack climbing and is a little more sustained at a similar grade.

Re: New Route by Glenn Woloski - Fog Ducker Spire
Oh yeah, We started at 2 in the afternoon, the whole route was in the shade all afternoon except the final pitch, though the belay for the final pitch was comfortably in the shade.

Re: New Route by Glenn Woloski - Fog Ducker Spire
Climbed this on Saturday, a great route, it looks like there was an immense amount of scrubbing and digging to get this route to the state is in now. Amazing work. Done in 4 pitches, it went smoothly. I'd agree on the 11a start, not super burly moves, but really tenuous and tricky to the 2nd bolt. O...

Re: Sunset Strip horror show
You suggested renaming the route to Sunset Sh*t. I climbed it, and didn' find the bolts dangerous or superfluous... I even gave a suggestion on how to make clipping the so called dangerous bolt fairly trivial. Calling out a single bolt as superfluous on a 12 pitch route seems a little over the top, ...

Re: Sunset Strip horror show
I'll echo J Mace here, i've climbed Sunset Strip and it's 'an instant classic' and in my opinion it IS well thought out. To address your two bolt concerns, the first bolt on the second pitch can be safely reached and clipped by climbing up the chimney, then you can down climb or do whatever you like...

Re: Climbing Gym in Squamish?
The bouldering co-op is great! People use it and enjoy it ;) It is located on loggers lane, downtown. Memberships are annual, or you can try to find a member to take you there and pay a drop in fee if you'd like to try it out, but you do need to be accompanied by a memebr and sign a waiver to drop i...

Re: Stories of Squamish Climbers in Yosemite
This was the nemesis of my trip... not the route up (which was the best of the trip) but the route down... falling rock. Points if you know this descent... and this photo is not messed with.
