That final scramble seemed to have less pro than anything else we'd climbed. BUT it could just have been w...

Polish polish...

The good moderate routes at French limestone sport crags (Buoux, Verdon...) are a lot more polished than anything here, but it is a long-term problem even on Granite I think. I have heard that in Eastern Europe it is common to plastic nuts, or knots for pro on soft rock that is easily damaged. This ...

Hi Peter...

Hi Peter, I guess you will never know if this rockfall was cleaning or natural. Glad you are OK. Thanks to the above for the information, I learned something today from this thread.

Missing hanger on Zoe

Did Zoe on Sunday. There was a NOTE in a plastic bag on the first bolt saying that the "4th bolt had fallen out". It was dated the day before. When I got to that bolt, in fact the bolt seemed fine but the hanger was missing. All the bolts seemed newish and well placed to me. Did the person who place...

I agree

Yes - I could not agree more. We have just done a whole summer of climbing or hitching, with a couple of Taxis. We want to head to Skaha in Nov, so we'll need a ride for that :)

Hi, We are pretty similar: I have been living here all summer and have just about knocked off all the 3* and up sub 5.11 in the smoke bluffs. Its a truely great crag! I won't solo above 5.7 though ;-) I've been lucky enough to have good partners for some long routes [Borderline / Squamish Butress / ...

climb...

Hi,
We should hook up. I have no real plans Fri/Sat/Sun other than heading out to the Smoke Bluffs with my kids (10 and 12) at some point. I am kind of tied up Mon-Wed, but could be free again after that.
Cheers
Rob.

this wed

Hi,
I live here and am keen to get some longer routes done before winter (I can lead up to 11a on a good day). I need to rest a tweak for a day or so, but this Wed could be possible. Let me know,
cheers
Rob.
