was in the coola valley for 9 days in early august when the fires were raging. The hill is no sweat now, used to be super sketch. There is only 1 white knucle place for about 100 feet where it gets pretty narrow. Fires scorched the top of the hill. Goodbye greenery, hello chared stumps. you are at 5...

Craig there was no snow on the road. The snowline looks to be at about 4500-5000 feet. There is visible snow around the bases of the peaks but this is to be expected for mid-June. Go to it.

I'll be a nice guy and post an update :D I was just up there 2 days ago. The road is in 2wd condition all the way to Steinbok. Its about 22km from the turn-off off Hwy 1 (right across the road from the Alexandria Bridge picknick area) to Branch 610 where you access Steinbok. Can't miss the turnoff a...

James, I'd like tp say sorry on behalf of all British Columbians. You probably didn't think you were coming to a place where marijuana is the "growth" industry and that some wacked out crack head is hiding behind every bush waiting to pounce to feed their habit. We have a saying "lock it or loose it...

Re: Calcuclus crack accident

I read about an accident that happened on Calculus crack. I hope the injured party is ok. http://www.theprovince.com/health/survives+metre+fall+Squamish+Chief/3131868/story.html An article in the Chief, says he was on the first section of the climb, probably the very first pitch in the trees. I lik...

My first 6 months of climbing photography

Hey all, I started shooting climbing last December 6th when a friend of mine invited me out to photograph him working on Flight of the Challenger at Murrin (in super cold temps). I quickly got hooked on climbing photography and have been out taking climbing pics weather permitting ever since. Now al...

I have been up there the last 2 weekends. The steep bit just after the lower parking area is a bit bumpy, especially on the left but cars are making up up to the main big parking lot. While its mostly high clearance trucks & SUVs there I also saw lots of small cars. So its doable in any car if you d...

I put my first scratch in my Nikon D700 this weekend while jumaring at Neat & Cool. My camera was swinging too and fro from my neck and wacking into my gear on the harness. I was pissed lol. I am a gear freak and like to keep my stuff in pristine condition. I baby my stuff too much. Just can`t help ...

Hi there. I was camping at Cheak last weekend. There is an informal campground just behind the main parking lot which is about 1 km up the Conroy Road from Hwy 99. There are about 3 "spots" which have been constantly used, 1 with picknick table but there are lots of other flat places to pitch a tent...
