Who wants to climb Teddy Bear's Picnic?

I'm looking for a strong second for Teddy Bear's Picnic (13a) .. I will lead everything. If anyone wants to second me on this route, please email me at solojourneys@gmail.com. This could be a long day, up to 8 or 9 hours. You should be capable of sustained 5.12 climbing (or prussiking as necessary).

anyone want to climb Rock On to Ultimate Everything?

I will lead every pitch. Must be good belayer and move fast as a second. It's a really fun linkup, and if you're a fast second we can do this in about 5 hours. Rock On to Memorial Crack to Ultimate Everything. Fun day! Hit me up at solojourneys@gmail.com

I got bit by the Mouse's Tooth: A Lesson in Sketch

Having gotten spanked last week on Slesse's Northeast Buttress (I was trying to bring an absolute beginner up the hill, only her third time rock climbing), I felt like my ferocious love affair with alpine climbing was suddenly turning sour. Slesse was a real breakup with the mountains, so I needed a...

Re: Wasp nest next to Viper in the Grand Wall boulders

There is also a ground nest right at the top of the first corner pitch (the 20meter 10b) on Milk Run. Watch out, they are aggressive. Made me bail quickly today!

Re: Parkes Wall - 500m alpine granite face

The big questions: 1. is it chossy? 2. protectable? 3. prone to rockfall? If answers are favorable, then this could be an amazing place to climb. I think the Eldred Valley and Khartoum area also offer incredible potential for route development, with quality rock and generally very short approaches ...

Fixed Ropes on Multipitch Routes?

Climbed Warriors of Wasteland today, beautiful climb with entirely fixed ropes from bottom to top (11.6mm Blue Water Ropes in good condition). Route is extremely clean up until pitch 5, then a bit licheny, but nothing severe. Anyone know of other hard, quality multipitch routes with fixed lines like...

Re: Right Wing - bolts are back

route is in beautiful condition; climbed it twice this month. Blew the onsight, then almost got the redpoint - but the '10c face' is sandbagged all to hell. I thought the laybacking was easy enough, although the gear is awkward to place sometimes due to body position ... thanks for the mid-belay and...

Re: Multi Pitch Politeness when stuck behind slow folks.

Good topic. Obviously, we are all 'slow climbers' on some grades. On 10s and low 11s I'm fast, but I'm slow as sh!t when I lead 12s. So I'm frequently in one of two positions; either stuck behind a slow party on a moderate route like the Grand, or holding up some rippers on a harder route like Freew...

Meetup Sunday @ Grand Wall Base, Climb & Meet Partners

Hey folks, I'm the organizer of the Vancouver Adventure Rock Climbing & Scrambling Meetup Group and I'm running a climbing meetup at the base of the Grand Wall at 8:30am this coming Sunday. This event is geared towards beginner to intermediate trad leaders; not a toprope party. We will be climbing s...

WANTED: Partner for U-Wall and/or Freeway

I'm looking for a partner this weekend for the U-Wall or Freeway - or some other hard classic multipitch. I usually onsight 10+/11-. I can lead 5.12 but not always in the best style. Would prefer to follow the 11+/12- pitches; I am a very good second, attentive belayer, fast climber. I'm free pretty...

Re: Millenium Falcon TR - some great shots

I've recently led this route and found it very clean, highly enjoyable with varied climbing. I would, however, suggest one more bolt on the 'tiptoe traverse' (10d) pitch ... I stupidly handtraversed this pitch, despite admonitions from the book to the contrary. Almost blew it, and would have departe...
