Re: Sunset Strip horror show

Dirt on Millennium Falcon. I spent a day cleaning up my mess on the first three pitches of MF. In fact I scrubbed sections to a higher standard than they were originally in. cleaning loose dust becomes a little futile, you sweep it off on a section of a climb and depending on the winds it just ends...

Re: Sunset Strip horror show

Bolting. If I decided to take a hard line trad approach to this line I could have reduced the bolt count to 1-3 protection bolts total, this would have greatly decreased the potential popularity of the line. Instead, I decided to make this line user friendly. Some people will find a few of the bolt...

Re: The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet/Mad Nerd and Poodle (aka the Facade) are currently undergoing warranty, this work will make both these routes even better than they were, there are fixed ropes in the way of the climbing so both lines are out of commission for the next little while. These fixed ropes are not a mini trax...

Re: Gauntlet / Millenium Falcon?

Thanks Bruce,

I have been doing some touch up work on the first few pitches of the Gauntlet, I totally gapped taking the signage out on Thursday night, I really didn't intend to have any closures in effect on a sunny weekend, I have since removed the closure.

Re: New Fixed Chain on Broadway

Hi Anders, This is the second time I've seen you suggest that commercial interests are responsible for and/or in support of "convenience" anchors or fixed ropes. Being fairly involved with the local guiding community I would have to say this kind of statement is incorrect and would kindly ask you to...

Re: New routes above and beyond area

Hi Paul and Glen, We did this route last weekend and though it was great. We did however think the traverse pitch in question was not ideally set up. I tried the traverse via the bolts and fell, I would estimate that the move is 11b-d. After falling it just seemed to make sense to try and hand trave...

Clipping the second bolt of "club flex" with a shoulder length is at almost the same elevation as the pin, isn't difficult to clip and creates no rope drag. There is no need for an additional bolt where the pin was ( it would be about two feet right of the club flex bolt)
