How bad is the drive to Squamish really going to be this weekend? I understand the Pemberton Festival is on this weekend causing traffic jams from Pemberton to Horseshoe Bay. I was hoping to head up Sat but don't feel like sitting in traffic for hours. Let me know how you find the drive.

I took my son up Diedre when he was seven. He didn't have any trouble.

Gary, That's a great idea going with the 70m rope. That will still leave you with a 60m rope after you trim it down at the end of your first day.

I just picked up the 70m Beal Booster 9.7 from MEC. It looks great on my living room floor. You'll have to wait until spring for my review.

I like Squamish Select better but The Climbers Guide to Squamish is more comprehensive.

Yellow Point: Send on TR without fall, unclipping draws as you go
