Heading to Geneva, where to boulder for a day?

Hey all,

So I'm heading to Geneva in about a week for work, and will have a couple of spare days. Can anyone recommend where I should go for some bouldering?

Also, if you know of any cheap guidebooks for the area, please give me a shout!

Thanks!

Re: NEW Squamish Climbing Magazine

Is this project dead? It looked so good when it started, but have the founders quit?

Mexico beach climbing? Anywhere?

So I'm planning on heading down to Mexico and spending some serious time on the beaches this winter. Swimming, surfing, etc. are major priorities.

That said... is there any climbing that anyone knows about on the beaches of Mexico? Boulders?

Thanks,
Marty

According to http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/mountain/hours/index.htm?aheading=0 , the Wizard chair listed in the guidebook will be closed during your visit. However, you can still get about 2/3 of the way up the mountain by taking the Peak-to-Peak gondola across from Whistler. The 7th Heaven chair...

Hey Stefan, I climbed the spire with a buddy on August 2nd. Here is how we climbed the route. 1) There is a set of three anchor bolts on the ridge, directly beside the top concrete pad for the Showcase T-bar. We set up an equalized anchor on these bolts, and tied the end of one rope to this anchor. ...

Camalot trigger repair

Hey, So on the weekend I had a trigger wire break on a 0.3 old-style single stem camalot. What broke is the solid wire that connects to the cam lobe. Is there anywhere in the Vancouver/Squamish area that can fix this? Otherwise, does anyone know of anyone that can fix this? And barring that, does an...

Digging up an older post here... but I'm wondering how this project went?

I managed to find this crag about halfway through development during the summer last year, but never ended up making my way back out there. Has the roof been sent?

Cheers,
Marty

I agree with Peter, on busy weekends there just isn't enough room for all of the cars to be parking at the bottom of the road. I know because I own a Civic that can't make it up there. Even if you fix up the dirt road, the road is steep enough that you'll get idiots spinning their tires, redevelopin...

dakine: I'm with pinner on this one... I haven't been climbing for too too long, and Squamish was definitely a tough place to learn the sport. More easier routes are definitely needed! Dru: Thanks for the advice, I'll do that next time I'm out there. JesseCR: I'll send you a PM next time I head out ...

Need advice on rock quality for potential new crag

I'm toying with the idea of developing a new crag between Vancouver and Squamish (it would give me something to do this fall when the rains come). I've found a really good looking cliff (with a good looking roof), but am unsure of the overall rock quality. Does anyone here have experience with judgi...

I'm just going to play devil's advocate to what I've been hearing so far. Please note I've only been climbing for a year on weekends, haven't gotten into trad climbing yet, and have never been on the Broadway ledge... What other reasons could there be to having a more secure route up/down the Broadw...

Digging up a super old post here... On Monday two buddies and I went through the same adventure as ras. Just a few comments on this climbing area for anyone that may be interested in heading out there: ♠ The Swiss Family Robinson contraption is SUPER sketchy. We climbed the rock behind it instead an...
